Boys State Letter

I am currently applying to Boys State and the prompt given for the letter portion of the application is very vague. What should I write in this and about how long should this letter be? Here is the prompt: “Write a brief letter stating why you want to attend American Legion Colorado Boys State.” Thanks!

As in any essay, think about your audience.

The folks reading this letter are members of the American Legion and are proud Veterans. They are seeking to send the best and brightest to this program to teach about how our government works.

Your essay should speak to your reasons and motivations for attending this program.....not just "checking the box" on the way to a service academy.
