Is it too late to be applying to the Boys State program in Maryland? I had just recently heard about the program and I'm not sure when the application opened or when it closes. I'm still going to finish the application, but I was just wondering.
 
I don't know about MD, but my son got into boys state easily in IL after he found out he was not able to go to NASS.
 
I went to Boys State in MD last year. I applied during the last week in May. Contact your local American Legion.
 
in our area the application was a spring time thing, and coordinated through the high school. Ask about it at your school guidance office.
If you are in an area where spots are competitive you may be offered an 'alternate' spot in case someone else doesn't attend. Take that spot. In my experience, the American Legion group sponsoring the student has almost always found the money and space to include alternates who show up on day one whether there was an open spot or not. They are really a generous group.
By the way, girls should look into it too. There is typically a parallel 'Girls State.'
