Branch Night Results?

Here is last year's (Class of 2017) for comparison once this year's is posted. There are ~20% more females in 2018.

This graph doesn't include branch detail stats.

The WPAOG website seems to have the best data.

There is a chart version somewhere that also shows lowest class rank for each branch. Not sure if that ever gets into public domain via official channels but its not to the level of classified.

I know what you are talking about. I've seen it open source, I think. I'll try to find it.

ADA -- his first choice. He's happy. It's what he did for CTLT.

What I find interesting is that one person's first choice may be someone else's last choice. My son's last two choices, out of the 17 total, were Infantry and Aviation...and yet those seem to be two of the most popular (coveted?) ones. Ideally everyone finds their own "perfect" fit, even if they end up with their 2nd/3rd/... choice.

Great. I remember a post of yours early on where you relayed that your DS liked ADA.

As to the second point, I think the same is true of posts. One man's Fort Hood is another man's Fort Drum and so forth. Climate, close to kin, etc.

I think it was Yuk year he first mentioned ADA, but he was also interested in FA early on. Those were still 1-2 branch night, but after CTLT he was leaning more toward ADA. I'm just glad cadets get some exposure to the different branches, and are able to talk to those currently in each branch, before they start making their list. And I realize it's a combination of things -- OML, needs of the Army, testing.

I agree with what you said about posts. I had asked my niece's husband about Ft Bliss (E-6, MI). He wasn't very positive about it before my DS went there for CTLT this past summer. But my DS had a good experience, in the branch, at the post, and with the LT he shadowed, so he had nothing bad to say about it. However he does have his eye on somewhere OCONUS. We'll see in February.

My DS was at Bliss this summer also. Also liked it, surprisingly to me.

Tidbit he learned, if perhaps unsupported with a cite: They averaged $1 million a day into that post for 5 years to upgrade it. Pretty modern. Not far from Cloud Croft or Ruidoso either.

There are good officers in every branch and there are no good branches and bad branches. All soldiers have a mission and deserve good leadership. As with all things in life, it isn't the location that matters most but the people at that location. Congratulations to everyone!

Would someone explain what (branch I guess) each of the 17 columns represent? Thanks
