Hello, I wrote in one of my nomination essays that I might want to become a cyber operations officer. Can you become one through West Point? I don't want to look like I didn't do my research. I don't see it here, but I saw it on another website.

I googled “USMA branches.”

If you don’t want to look like you didn’t do your research, you know the solution to that. And it really shouldn’t be you got an anonymous soul with an Alexa proclivity to do it.
Now is a great time to go back and re-read every page, drop down and link on USMA.edu, your primary source.

FYI. Although still a small number compared to other branches, Cyber slots through USMA have increased substantially - there were 15 slots for the Class of 2016. A couple weeks before 2020's Branch Night, the Chief of Staff of the Army increased that year's allocation from 27 slots to 40.

More importantly, Cyber is classified as part of USMA's 80% combat arms requirement, which means the number of future Cyber slots will not be restricted by that requirement.
