Branches Willing to Look At Me?

I was medically disqualified from the Air Force through AFROTC due to a history of asthma and shellfish allergy. I tried to fight it and got a Methacholine Challenge Test and an Oral Challenge Test which I both passed. Unfortunately, even after presenting it as evidence that I am no longer affected by them, the AF decided to uphold the medical disqualification. Will the other branches take a look at my case individually and find their own conclusions separate from the Air Force's conclusions? I'm about a year or so away from graduation and would love to serve, but it's this medical problem that I've caught a roadblock at. Right now, my top preference would be Navy OCS, but at this point, any branch would do.

The Services all have their own waiver policies, which makes sense - different missions, different equipment, different operating environments. Your own individual history must be evaluated.

Some things might be usually waivered, seldom waivered, never waivered.

The needs of the Service will always be the dominant factor.

I’m sending a flare up to @MullenLE Deputy Director of DoDMERB who kindly posts primarily in the DoDMERB forum. His team does the Q/DQ work, but he has insights into waiver processes and years of experience. He is also willing to talk with you via email or phone, but no details in open forum. See his “FAST” Sticky at the top of the DODMERB Forum for how to reach him.
