Branching, OML, OMS

All I can say after going through a sort of rough accessions process last year is that you should be prepared for anything. I'm still dealing with pay issues, marriage status issues, etc.

Be fully prepared for anything that happens, and that should include starting your civilian job search now. I had to do that while waiting on a medical waiver this past summer and it was unpleasant but necessary. At least have some options lined up so that you aren't blindsided.

One thing you should consider is the National Guard - several of my friends who were forced into the Reserve component were able to get Guard jobs and work for them full time as technician, which can actually pay pretty well.

Does anyone have the fiscal year 2013 accesions powerpoint on them? Ithink it would be nice to know for sure if 75.15 was the AD Cutoff for last year. Also more importantly, I would like to know how many OMS points cadets in the 50% of the AD OML had last year. That would be a good indicator of where our scores would fall. The average at my school semms to be in the low eighties (80-82 range). The "high-speed" cadets who had several dimensional E's, high PT scores, etc seemed to be in the 86-95 range. I highly doubt the 50% of AD OML cadets for fy 14
have more than a 85 oms average.

Also does anyone knw how many AD allocations are given this year compared to last year? I think last year was 3,100 slots

The middle 50% of the AD OML was 81.6 in FY11. Again, until the numbers for this year are released there is no way of determining where you are going to fall. Until then I suggest you get a hobby. Take up bird watching, build model trains, join a book club. Do something other than driving yourself crazy worrying about something that's out of your control.

The 2013 Accessions powerpoint isn't going to help you much, things are too different this year. The OMS scores are going to be different because of the changes they made i point distribution. It will all come down to how many AD 2LT's the Army needs, that will determine the mythical cutoff number.

mbitr is right, nothing you can do about it now, just try and relax and wait for November.
