To anyone who follows the NHL: what do you think of the Bruins this season? I feel like they have a great shot at the Stanley Cup this year, this team came together out of nowhere :)! But some of my friends tell me that if we win the President's Cup, we won't win the Stanley...

Hoping my home team ends the 12 year drought :rolleyes2:

They are definitely having a great season. Im a bolts fan. Bolts had a season where they set an NHL record for the most points in the regular season and did not win the cup. Anything can happen in the playoffs. I like the Bruins except for Marchand. TOTAL Douchebag. A good night of hockey is seeing him go into the wall.

only 2 President's Cup teams have won the Stanley cup in the past 20 years....so the stats are not favorable. Yes...crazy good year and it means nothing in the playoffs.

Marchand is polarizing for sure 😂

100% spot on. I am a Bolts half season ticket holder

I was more of an Islanders fan than a Rangers fan growing up, but often it was easier to see a Rangers game. Walk to the train station and hop the LIRR to Penn Station.
My sophomore year of high school we had a Mexican exchange student so we went to a game- Rangers vs Bruins. The exchange student got to see what turned out to be a famous game. It was… epic.

Famous game! Milbury ended up worst GM in NHL history

Brad Marchand is universally hated by the rest of the league.....but any other team would be grateful to get him. He scores, he passes, he wins. Sure he's a tough customer but he's worth ten wins per season.

But on the other hand, how many days of suspensions does Marchand get per year? He is a habitual offender and the league is giving him stiffer and stiffer suspensions.

Al Secord was a guy with A TON of penalty minutes but who had talent. Like Probert, Tochet, Niland, or Dale Hunter. Love guys like that. Marchand is a punk who won’t fight

Chris "Knuckles" Nilan was a bruiser on skates. Never backed down to anyone. But when he dated (and later married) James J "Whitey" Bulger's girlfriend's daughter he shivered in the prescence of the Great Man. West Roxbury was never as tough as Southie.

Knuckles was a hoot, though. Helluva entertaining hockey player.

Al Secord just retired from AA, he was up in the stands that day in MSG!

Al Secord was a tough guy, plenty of fights and all, but could also score 20 goals or more a season. In the 1970s there were few goons - everybody could skate, shoot, score - and fight. Even the Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito and Bobby Hull and Derek Sanderson guys of that era could fight, as well as have awesome offensive numbers.

Then in 1980s-2000s fighting was limited to so-called enforcers or goons. Now it hardly exists at all.

Marchard bumps into somebody these days & he gets 2 minutes.

I don’t think he has any suspensions this year. He has been trying to clean up his act. But a couple years ago I saw him intentionally spear Andre Palat in the pills in Tampa. What a rat.
