After reading through some threads it became apparent it was that time of year for mailbox stalking. Last years thread, Still in the Game, was filled with the most amazing people and their stories of mailbox stalking. This year I'm looking forward to reading c/o 2019's stories...will one of us have a good natured, funny, mailman (who liked to taunt dad,) by the name of Bob?

Congratulations to all who have received their appointments, and good luck for all those who are waiting for the BFE.

No serious stalking for us just yet. Last week USNA initiated DS's medical waiver; all documents are in and waiting for review.
 
Yes like so many other families, we are seriously stalking our mailbox!! Today may be the day!!! Best of luck to everyone waiting for the mailman!

No Word from MOC or USNA on appointment so we"ll just wait and get his plan B school all situated with deposits etc. Mailman knows we're looking for a BFE and we now have a Ring doorbell with video for security so if one comes, he said he'd walk up to it holding the envelope so it alerts us where ever we are.

Ok…here is a mailbox stalking nightmare story!

Our MOC does not make phone calls to appointees so we are solely relying on mailbox stalking for our first notification of an appointment yet the following report just came over our online neighborhood alert system.

"A small silver car, possibly a Saturn, just drive up to our mailbox and took our mail. Be aware."

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!! Like we don't have enough to worry about right now!? :bang:

On the bright side my DS passed his FAA written test for his Private Pilots License today! :)
 
NavyFam, I totally get your frustration...I am on our HOA Board, and we have been getting reports of mail being stolen! First thought I had was "Oh No, they better not steal that BFE!!"
 
here's one for everybody...our mail usually is delivered (HOA Community as well so big boxes) between 11-1 each day so today I go to get the mailbox key and walk over to the mailbox and it is not there then I realize that it is in my Van which I allowed my son drive to school today..LOL! he won't be home until after 2pm! I will have to have mailbox withdrawal therapy after the next few months is over with :)
 
How many have called their MOC office to ask about noms and slates? DS does NOT want to do this and I'm chomping at the bit......
Would calling toi inquire be bad form at this point?

Sprintmom- when was your DS/DD's BFE Supposed to be mailed and where are you located?

MJP, we called our MOC office because they hadn't announced the slate. They were VERY courteous and told us about how many slots were available and that it was unranked. That's how we found out about DS's nom- about a month before it showed on portal. I am sure they would be happy to discuss it with you.

Our DS's MOC has not announced their slate either although DS did get a nom. He does know it was submitted unranked and does not know how many slots were available or if any on the slate had LOA's.
That is the info I'd kinda like to know although I realize at this point, that info does me or our DS any good...

Guess it all comes down to that WCS ranking...and waiting.
 
Sprintmom, how exciting. You'll have to let us know how you broke the news to your DD/DS.

Our MOC sends in an unranked slate as well. Having the academy start DS's medical waiver, from my understanding, is good news. If DS's waiver is denied he has a solid plan B, and a plan C in place.

NavyFam, Probably a neighborhood Army kid regretting he didn't apply to Navy. All kidding aside, that is a bunch a muck. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I may need to go buy a trail cam.
