C/O 2019 Mailbox Stalkers

Walterd, Congratulations! So happy for you and hope a BFE arrives to you any time soon.

Does anyone know if they get NAPS students and Foundation Scholars from the people on the wait list who were not offered an appointment? Is being on the wait list and getting an offer to NAPS mutually exclusive?

Someone earlier said that they were separate.

Mailbox stalking has ended for me today. Extremely upset at the moment. Thank you all for the support and good company. I hope to see a bunch of you back for the next round. 2020 here we come!

DS was told no. As a 3Q candidate on the wait list, he is(along with other USNA wait list candidates) not eligible for NAPS or Foundation.

Going to take a break from stalking. Not really sure how to feel about the wait list :(

MJP I can't speak for NAPs but I know that Foundations sponsored kids are 3Q'd. Competitive slates push some very good candidates into Foundations. And I've read on this site that Foundations students have the highest success rate of any group once they enter the Academy.

Right there with you, usnahopeful19. DD receiver her TWE on Friday, was distracted by her last AFJROTC drill meet on Saturday, and fell apart on me on Sunday...... Very, very hard as her parent to feel so helpless to ease her grief. She is trying to see the hidden blessing in this disappointment, and she, too, has accepted her NROTC scholarship, and has already said she will reapply to USNA for Class of 2020. Good luck to all reapplicants next year!!!!!

Nodiva, that gives us additional hope then!!!

DS got waitlist in the mail today. The letter was dated April 1. It was good to finally hear something and be able to move a little more aggressively towards plan B, even if reluctantly. Good luck everyone, and thanks for all the encouragement and support. We may be getting family tickets for that second ride on the roller coaster next year!!!
