C/O 2019 Mailbox Stalkers

Out to once again check the mailbox....Good Luck to everyone!
So I very nonchalantly checked the mail today, thinking we're going to have to wait, and lo and behold, it's a TWE! Ach.... No!! Not again ... But last year the first TWE was notice that he had been selected for the Wait List, so I wasn't completely deflated. Indeed, it's a guaranteed offer of appointment, contingent on Medical Qualification!! OMG So happy for him!! Called DoDMERB to confirm what they told me yesterday. Texted DS photos of the letter!! Yay! Yay! Yay!

Congrats Kayaker! Still waiting......MOC is no longer in office so I don't think we will be getting a phone call like others have, we will just have to continue stalking the mailman. Thankfully the mail comes early in the morning and I can run home from work each day and check. I don't have to wait until the end of the day.

Hello all you fellow stalkers out there. Congratulations to everyone for getting as far as they have. Nollie, our MOC is no longer in office either but my DGS did receive a call from the new MOC who him that he had received an appointment. We were wondering what would happen since the nominating MOC was no longer in the picture. The new MOC will even be posting the appointments on his website!

Our Congressman is no longer in office either. We didn't get a call. The letter indicates that copies were sent to our MOCs. Interesting thing is, the letter is not dated, but it's postmarket Feb. 24. It go here quickly -- but it's not a BFE. Hoping for the best for you, Nollie!

My son did not take chem this year as he placed out with AP chem in HS and he was accepted. His only concern is that since he took it as sophomore, he may not remember enough of it to place out of it as a plebe - he is going to try to review if he can.

I know this is a bit off the original topic, but if we get the dreaded TWE this year, my DS has already informed me we are getting back on the roller coaster for the second, and if needed third rides. He is going to major in engineering at a Big Ten school. My question is since he is taking AP chem this year if he scores a 4 on th AP exam he wouldn't have to take the dreaded Chem 115 and 116 at his college. Would the academies frown upon him only taking physics plus lab, calculus, and the other basic freshmen engineering classes plus ROTC?
Thanks for any suggestions!

I've joined the ranks, too. I made the mailman unload his truck the day I thought the noms were coming. I can't do it to him again! Last weekend, he rang our bell and we were sure this was "it" but alas, he had skid in the snow and hit our post and cracked it. I just know today will be the day. It has to be. :)

No mail at all today, what the heck! Haven't gone off the deep end concerning checking the mail box yet (I have a feeling it's coming though).

We've been stalking for the last four years through STEMs, NASS, and now hoping for a BFE. Haven't heard DS is getting one though, so I continue to stalk with high hopes!

Our mailman bypassed our mailbox today and danced up the walk! Yes, BFE has arrived!!! I took a pic and texted it to our DGS at school. Yes, he will be opening it and celebrating with us tonite! So proud of all the awesome candidates for clearing hurdles and achieving so many goals.

I happened to be at home today when the mail came and saw the carrier walking up the sidewalk with what looked like a large envelope. My hopes went sky high until I saw it was way too thick to be an envelope. It was at least 6" deep :( Turns out it was a package. Ugh.

Keep those hopes up! All fingers crossed for you and yours.

congratulations to all who have received BFE's this last few weeks :) Still mailbox stalking here with no sign of a BFE :-( Keeping hopes p for this week.

Ds got a request today from Naval Academy Admissions to follow him on social media. As anyone else seen this request? I think it's a good sign in the least. He's got USCGA, AROTC "USC,Colorado,NC State"And NROTC/mo "Colorado" but Navy has always been his first choice. The wait is definitely nerve racking. Good luck to all of you that are waiting and congrats on raising kids that are the best this nation has.

another mail day come and gone :-( though I don't see many posting BFE news so that could be a good sign....also is the request to follow a candidate on FB normal and is that a good sign? a request like that hasn't come my DS way but nice to know if it does.

I saw something on my porch today after work and got all excited....forgetting I ordered a part for my vacuum. Well unless the BFE is maquerading as a Dyson part guess not today! Maybe tomorrow right?

I wasn't sure where to put this, but the "stalker" thread seemed appropriate. First time poster, long time lurker. I merely wanted to thank all of the members and moderators (and super-moderator) that post here. These forums have been extremely helpful. I've been glued to them--check that--obsessed with them for the past few months. One poster (USA Navy?) had me dying with laughter as she described herself obsessing over the forums and driving her family crazy talking about it. I do exactly the same thing.

We are not a military family. We had NO IDEA what was involved in this whole process. Needless to say, we've all learned a lot. Hoping for appointment for DS--senior in HS. He's worked very hard, as I know all of the candidates have. Because of the effort involved, it seems normal for everyone to become so "invested" in the process.

I guess we will all know in the next several weeks. Good luck to all!

It looks like Turndown Letters for candidates who were not found scholastically qualified and/or medically qualified (not scholastically qualified or competitive for an appointment) are starting to roll out. It also looks like the Admissions Board is still reviewing candidates and their hope is to get out most of the turndown letters by the end of the month. REMEMBER, if you receive a TWE and are interested in re-applying, read the re-applying thread, talk to your BGO, or ask the forum.

Another week of mail box and phone stalking is coming to a close(my student mail room at college isn't open Saturday's) and no news yet.. I don't know how I'll handle the news, no matter what it is.. If I get my 3rd TWE, I will be so devastated... If I finally get an appointment, I'll have to restrain myself from running around post yelling! I've picked up a habit of knocking on wood(primarily my head when I'm indoors) whenever I even think about getting a BFE or TWE. Superstition has gotten the best of me..

Since reading usnabgoO8 post yesterday my constant thought has been TWE's. Today, DS received a dreaded TWE. The return address was from Department Of The Navy/office of admissions. My heart sunk, thinking--NO! It can't be; he just received his medical waiver. Sure enough Admissions Medical Office was sharing the good news that his record will continue through the process.

We were expecting notification from DoDMERB, not the Academy--they got us! :)
