C/O 2019 Mailbox Stalkers

Well, our torch has been extinguished and no decision needs to be made any longer. TWE from USNA arrived today. Happy to have a clear decision and head off for Spring Break.

Still praying for those still in the hunt. We have prayed and prayed that He would show us His plan for DS. We feel that plan has been revealed today.

Thanks for all the help everyone has given

Thanks KLS-SC! Same to you and your son. They will land on their feet. Like someone else said as hard as it is to take, they are exceptional kids to have made it this far!

It is hard to see this huge process come down to a sad little piece of paper. Their peers and those outside the process really don't get how much these kids have invested in this process.

I really believe that there is a plan for each of these kids even if it isn't on our time or doesn't match up with our plan. His plan is much better than any plan we could make. I have found comfort in Jeremiah 29:11 through this entire process. At the same time, I am literally crying for all of these kids as I read the painful posts that are coming out today!

Awww thanks usnahopeful19. All is ok for us. DS received an appointment to USMA. It is truly not where we expected him to be, but after researching it some more, I think it is the best place for him to be for what he really wants to do.

USNA was the first academy we visited and he just fell in love with the atmosphere and the campus. He really wanted the service academy environment and he will get that. He is actually relieved to not have to make that hard decision.

I am sad because I have grown to rely on the people in this forum for support and answers to questions. It is a lively and fun bunch here. I will just have to drop by and visit still!

And to those with TWEs, I'm sure you will do absolutely fabulous wherever you end up! We have a saying/thought process thing in my school: "When you're playing darts, you don't aim for the bullseye; you aim juuuust a little bit higher to account for gravity. But there's so much that factors into your throw: the power you put into it, your concentration, and also things you can't control, like wind or someone blocking the way." Basically, you aimed higher than you had to, you put more than sufficient effort into it, and you controlled everything you possibly could. Now you landed on your bullseye. That may not be USNA this time around, but, hey, that's why you're given three darts ;)

As for me, I'm still waiting for any sort of news here in PA. My BGO contacted me yesterday and said that it looks like they haven't even touched my application yet. I'm waiting until the 31st to start making any solid Plan-B decisions, though.

So terribly sorry for all the TWEs here today. I was keeping hopeful that all the kids would get a BFE to celebrate. I'll miss everybody's chatter. it sounds like some really impressive plan Bs for many. I have always felt that all USNA candidates are so outstanding that they will "bloom where they are planted." Good luck everybody, and for those left, hang in there. Two more weeks until April 15.
 
Still on this island, still waiting. Extra hoping for a BFE, because...

We got unexpected bad news in that Plan B and Plan C fell through, in the same day!! Totally floored by this as we were given assurances at both, very strange, making inquiries as to why.
Plan D was not great and so spent the day looking to apply to schools with rolling admissions to have some choices, even if they are compromises. Hoping beyond hope for an appointment from the national pool.

Looking for the Blessings and His will to come out of all of this..... for all of us. Love the support here.

P.S. If we get the BFE, DS is going to be extra motivated to beat B&C as they are in the Patriot league. GO NaVy!!!
 
Oh Wow! Mom2CO18?, I will be pulling for you extra hard and logging a few extra prayers for your DS.

College admissions seems to be a funny business these days. My DS still has not been accepted to the in state Big Ten school he applied to, yet was accepted early to two out of state Big Tens with better engineering schools with a four year AROTC scholarship, and an appt. to USMA. Go figure!

I have really learned to sit back and watch the plan unfold through this process. Never did I think it would play out the way it has, which has definitely strengthened my faith that there are reasons for it beyond my comprehension.

I sincerley hope and pray your DS gets a BFE or finds the path being laid for him. We are at peace and hope everyone else gets there soon as well!

TWE arrived yesterday. No more dream and be happy embracing with plan B.
