C/O 2019 Mailbox Stalkers

No more waiting on the island. TWE arrived today. Best of luck to everyone else still waiting.
Oh no...I am not sure I can handle another week of crying with all the TWE posts. I'm so sad, HopefulMid19. My DS was rejected from his Plan B yesterday and I am trying to get prepared for the USNA TWE if/when it arrives. Good luck on Plan B---I'm sure you'll be amazing!

Thank you so much for the well wishes. I posted this in another thread as well but I suppose I'll do it again. My brother shared this quote with me after he heard the bad news. “Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.” - Denis Waitley

I'm a current college student so I'm not sure what I'll do next. However, this quote gives me a little push towards continuing this difficult journey to Annapolis.

Still waiting here at NC -04. Deposited $$ at VMI for Plan B while waiting for NROTC 4 yrs scholarship transferring from NCSU to VMI.
Praying for all and Good Luck to ALL
Today I called the David Price office to ask about any decisions and they said they called someone today to give them an appointment. It was not me or the other person from my school, we have still heard nothing. Was it you?

Blah. Got an email about 10 minutes ago saying that I was not selected for the NROTCMO scholarship. This, coupled with 8 Ivy rejections yesterday really just makes this week a terrible week. I was sure I at least met all the requirements, if not surpassed them...
Oh well, what's done is done. Now all I can do is hope for an appointment to USNA. Fingers and toes crossed....

Struggling here too. Plan B&C rejected and WL, so now scrambling for a good Plan B if the TWE appears. Plan D, not DS's happy place and for working as hard as he did, and to achieve so much....deserves a GREAT option. Just didn't count on the fickleness of B&C being smaller schools, wanting well rounded class or wanting early commits or any of the other reasons we are getting when he exceeds every mark they had for him and still rejected. Bad luck and victim of the numbers, wearing hard on us. Knew USNA was hit and miss, even with high everything, didn't count on B&C being the same.

Hoping some of the rolling admissions schools have spots or coaches have some pull or... BFE (really, hoping for that).

No, it was not me for sure since I got TWE on the 28th . You may not been in the forum in a while. I posted that somewhere on page 21 or so.

Mailbox stalking has ended for me. I received the TWE today. I guess I'll have to settle for RPI.
I just started my application for USNA class of 2020... hopefully this time next year I'll have a thicker envelope in my mailbox.
I hope so too!

Sorry Angie!! Are you by any chance going to be doing NROTC at RPI? Best of luck with reapplying!

usnahopeful19: I do plan to do ROTC at RPI. Thanks!
Angie9715.. I am so sorry---but, I am thrilled that you have such a GREAT back up plan. I am trying to imagine how "the TWE moment" will go with my DS and it gives me a stomach ache, but I know I'll have all of you to share, cry and heal with. Thank you all in advance for this forum as the TWE's come pouring in this week. :(

Second time applying was obviously not a good luck charm for me haha. TWE today. Its whatever, wasn't meant to be, God has bigger and better plans for me. Also, for what I want to do, I have a better chance enlisting after college to try and get a SEAL or SWCC contract. Getting a SEAL officer billet is extremely hard and with all the books that I own and have read about SEALS (roughly 25, thats how dedicated I am to learn more and more) Officers say that if they could have done it all over again they would enlist because as officers if you become a SEAL you only get 2-3 combat deployments then are stuck at a desk planning missions, I would rather see combat haha as odd as that may seem. I mean who doesn't want action, thats why I want to be in the military hahaha. But good luck to everybody else waiting!
