C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

... so the game experience was interesting. We were waiting for the game to start 35 minutes out when an inclement weather advisory was issued. We went back inside to seek cover. DS '26 was outside pulling road "watch" duty. With rainstorm fast approaching, we aborted the game, went outside and talked to DS by the road. What are you watching? I asked. He said he was watching for crazy mids trying to escape the game. The storm came and he was still by the road "watching." Poor DS, soaked.

🎶 ... sittin' on the morning sun, I'll be sittin' when the rainin' come.
Watching mids roll in, and then watch 'em roll away, yeah. I'm just sittin' on the road by the bay watching the mids march away. Ooh I'm sittin' on the road of the bay watching mids... 🎶
Note: add whistling tune for effects.

This cracked me up a bit….announcers explaining the weather delay. Everyone evacuated to safety. The teams safely inside.

Lol glad the Mids are safe 🙄IMG_2919.jpeg

On FB this is controversial. And possibly should be. They evacuate everyone and then green light midshipmen to hang out and clean stadium—- allegedly.

Overall, should we beat Wagner? Yes. Did we play better? Defend better? Throw and rush better? Yes. And we played under classmen. If SA’s are to remain relevant they have to retain quality personnel even when the transfer portal looms. Having young players see the light of day is key to that in my opinion.

DS has different billet so he didn’t fit into march in group, even though they were cancelled. Spent quality time with brass and got to be done mid way through the whole game process. New and cool for him. Sucks for mom looking for pictures on cbs. I digress.

Sounds like my firstie and yours had same similar billet.

Yeah, that was a crazy game. I was so bummed we didn't pull it off. Massive improvement overall.

We planned to go visit the dude for lunch yesterday, but he called early and said he was having the chills and headache. Went to the BMU, got a rapid COVID test. Looked negative, so he left and was walking back to his room when the corpsman (or whoever it is) called, and said, uh, yeah, looks positive now.

In lock-down in his room for the next 4 days. Said he is having a hard time sleeping as he's going from hot to chills, and can't get comfortable to sleep. Oh well. Sucks for him. :(

He had it whatever strain was going around before while he was at UMBC, so about a year and a half ago. Hopefully he gets over it quick and can get back to the grind. His company already did the Fall PRT, so at least he doesn't have to worry about missing that. But he's going to miss some classes and work associated with them.

DD has been sick for the past three weeks. Did not have COVID but sinusitis and bronchitis. Whatever meds they gave her at BMU were useless. Makes me very angry knowing that she is not getting the right treatment. Spoke to her on Friday evening and she is still hacking away. I'm beginning to think it's the mold around the vents that's causing her to be so sick.

She has Tricare. She is invincible. Don't worry. :)
