C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

LRECs are as you said, purely cultural. There's no studying a language involved nor going to classes.
Better check this, @Dragomir.

DD did an LREC. It was five weeks long, at a university in a foreign country, where she went to classes each day to study a language. She was there with a half-dozen other mids, all doing an LREC.

Long weekend for the dude. Took his GF to a concert in B-More, then hung out with us on Sunday night and yesterday. Big old rib-eye steak dinner for him being home to celebrate Veteran's Day. He's excited because at the last ortho appointment, the orthodontist said he may be able to get his braces off in a few more visits instead of next year!

He's still working out a lot with the goal of doing the NSW screener in the spring including time at our gym pool yesterday. Also, should hear about the possible travel abroad slot in the next few weeks. Although, to do so, he needs a 3.0 GPA, and with the latest results from the 12-week exams, that might be an issue. :bleh2: He says he's got it under control. I recommended more studying and less gaming and girlfriending .......

Same one, back together again (much to our chagrin).

He said 3.0. Perhaps his gouge was wrong.

We had lunch with CAPT IronmannDaremo'sDad (mid's grandfather) on Saturday. He was telling stories of his time teaching at the Academy. He was there during the big EE scandal (early-mid 80's). He said mids were so focused on understanding what was going to be on a test that they neglected to learn the material so they could figure out answers based on understanding content.

That cane after the mid talked about practicing and memorizing homework problems for one of his math classes. Kid learned a bit of a lesson from the old CAPT. ;)

Similar to last year, did not pass his PCA last week (2nd class Pro-Know). Oops! Re-test is Sunday, He's checking with his Company Cdr. to see how close he was to passing to get a sense of what he should focus on with the studying.

bummer. no word from my MID. After game last Sat I offered to take out to dinner but he wanted to hit company tailgate and then study for PCA

Oh, and kid said the S.E.A.L. screener is today. Couldn't have picked a "better" day for it. Snowed all morning, and drizzly and cold now. Embrace the suck!!

Said you can't really "watch" unless you just happen to be walking by one of the evolutions.

Kid is planning the Spring one.
Best of luck! My DS (has no interest) was helping a buddy by being a training partner the screener.
