Was at Post Office today so stopped in to check with Farr because they changed the sending address.
I told them, sorry I don't want to seem like that "parent". They were very nice about it. Confirmed receipt.
Waiting is my worst event, but DS takes it fine.

My DD heard from Farr, (maybe a week ago) interview is scheduled for Nov 11. The funny thing was that they called my husband's cell phone? My daughter called back, he wasn't expecting a call and was a little confused. Nothing from Feinstein or Boxer yet. DD has an LOA, maybe that's why she heard earlier? I hope your DD/DS hears soon!

Oh, I was just going to add that, West Point. I'm assuming Navy for you? We must live close to each other...wondering if I already know you? Hmmm

We're in CA-11. DS called DeSaulnier's office and being told that they'll do interview in mid-December.

But we haven't heard anything from Boxer/Feinstein either.
Crossing our fingers.

I'm in CA-17 and have my congressman interview on Nov 19.

As for Senator Boxer, it says on her website that phone calls will be made out mid November.

Go to
1) FAQ
2) Look for the question "What is the time line for application submission, nomination, and appointment?"
3) This processing period is brought to culmination when, in mid-November, qualifying applicants are selected to move on to the next stage in the process. Applicants who advance to this stage, interview by telephone with a nominations selection committee composed of individuals who are themselves academy graduates and either reservists, or retired military.

An update: DD had her Farr interview yesterday and received a phone call (message) from Senator Boxer's office about setting up an interview this afternoon. DD will call back tomorrow, thought it was odd to be called on a Sunday.

DS also had interview yesterday with Farr, haven't called him to check about anything else...

He thought it went well, large panel, he's a performer at heart so I'm sure that he did well. It was hard not being there at home waiting, since we are at Disneyland...he doesn't like to miss school, lol, imagine that!

DS received call, no principal but they are recommending him for competitive, son is okay with that and will continue to stay positive!!

I'm sorry, I'm new at this. Does that mean you son secured a nom but not a principal nom?

No, unfortunately, but they are recommending him for a competitive nomination, so he'll have a hard road because he's going against others in the "general pool" is how I've seen it referred as.
So he's with others who don't get a Sen or MOC nom, but will be considered for other available nominations once they start doing that.

It sounds like he has a nomination, just not the Principal Nom? Which is great! A competitive nom is still a nom. He can still be appointed, don't give up yet. My daughter was told due to her LOA she wouldn't receive the Principal Nom to West Point, but she will receive a competitive nomination. Sam Farr does the Principal and unranked/competitive slate. As long as he has that nomination, he's still in the hunt.
