Cadet bands?

Since freshman year I have been actively involved in Jazz band and Wind Ensemble, both audition groups. I have been on two California Performance tours with the groups.

I know that the Air Force has bands (Airmen of Note), but are there any Cadet bands, preferably jazz groups at the Academy?

Yes, there's the Drum and Bugle Corp which is the main band. They perform at parades, football games, and during cadet meal formations, among others. I'm not sure about the Jazz, but the great thing about Usafa is that if we don't have it - you can create it! There's tons of cadet clubs that do different things.

Are there any string groups? I've been a violinist for 8 years, playing classical, jazz, and rock

there is also a cadet orchestra. they have concerts of their own, and they also accompany the Catholic Choir from time to time.
