What should prospective cadets and parents plan on wearing for the Cadet for the Day program? Thank you.
Parents? Parents should wear whatever they want. What should prospective cadets and parents plan on wearing for the Cadet for the Day program? Thank you.
Then you answered your own question. I “toured” the Naval Academy grounds several times during my son’s football recruiting experience wearing everything from shorts and a t-shirt to my khaki uniform.I disagree. I think a parent touring the academy should be dressed appropriately and it would be disrespectful not to be. I'm just trying to figure out what is expected. We live on the west coast where things are much more casual.
We did our very first tour in the middle of January. COLD! Down jacket, jeans, and boots for us. Our DS wore khakis but still was dressed appropriately for the weather. As for Cadet for a Day, again, khakis and polos or button downs for the guys was the general dress of the day. COMFORTABLE shoes. My DD didn't get to attend due to Covid, but girls generally tend to be dressier.I disagree. I agree. For both parents and prospective cadets. But keep in mind that CGA is on a steep hill and you can expect to be walking up and down steep hills and stairs and paths all day long. So wear appropriate shoes for that kind of walking. And if the weather is going to be bad, foul weather gear. The Campus is right on the water and again - on a steep hill. Neat but casual and prepared. It's surprising that dress is even in question. Dress up...business casual at least. The Officers, Enlisted and Cadets will be looking sharp...why would a candidate not want to do the same?
DS email said Business Casual w/ comfortable shoes. I'd assume same for Parent and student. What should prospective cadets and parents plan on wearing for the Cadet for the Day program? Thank you.
