Just do as what his OAM portal says. Padilla on the other hand had candidates indicate email addresses of their recommenders. Best of luck.Do we have to get our letters of rec sent to Schiff or just upload them via pdf? On the OAM it just tells me to upload the file but I know for other offices they have you send them in via mail/email.
How did you create an account for OAM? I can't see " create new account " button. Also, the portal says the duedate passed and it is still on the 2024 application.Do we have to get our letters of rec sent to Schiff or just upload them via pdf? You have to go through Schiff's website. Padilla still hasn't updated his.How did you create an account for OAM? I can't see " create new account " button. Also, the portal says the duedate passed and it is still on the 2024 application.
Any update to this? As of now I can still only submit one letter of rec. After my teacher uploads the letter it checks the box even though only one letter is there. You may want to reach out to his (Sen. Schiff's) office. I've discussed with my students in California that his staff will likely update the application to allow up to five letters to be submitted to their office. But, that is my conjecture at this time. With a November 1 due date, there is plenty of time to complete the application. No need to rush. Good news is we know the essay and other requirements for planning and delivery in the fall. Good luck!
None of my students have reached out yet. I would give it a month or so. Have you reached out to Sen Schiff's staffer about this topic?Any update to this?
I reached out to him and had a discussion with his Rep. who is controlling the nominations. He added something to the website that said to just email the rest of your letter of recommendations to his office with the First and Last name of the applicant in the subject. You may have to go through the upload process to see that message though.None of my students have reached out yet. I would give it a month or so. The OAM application is open for Schiff so it's fine to start now. The Rep. told me that he is going to start building out applicant profiles now so it's good to start early. You made me check Senator Schiff’s website and I read he requires 3 LORs so I’m unsure where you are seeing he only accepts 1 LOR. It says his application period will open late spring and this is still very early given most senators & MOCs will have theirs opened during the summer. Also, keep in mind he barely took office this January so his OAM portal might need some refining to do. Per instruction from his website, it says not to submit any application materials prior to his cycle opening officially but you had your teacher submit one already?
Just know you will incur additional activities/honors/awards etc etc as your junior year comes to an end and should update all of that on your application. If you are attending any of the summer programs offered by the SAs, your experience may change the outcome of your essays required by your nominating sources and the main applications alike. Know that you will want your applications to be perfect as possible. I prefer starting early too, but this seems a bit too early in my opinion. I'm not going to submit it until much later. I'm just getting the things that I can do now out of the way like Letters of Rec, standardized test scores, and transcripts. I'm not submitting my EC's until later this summer.Just know you will incur additional activities/honors/awards etc etc as your junior year comes to an end and should update all of that on your application.
