Question already above, if you just get the SA ok to start your DODMERB appointment, can the candidate chose the day and month?, or they will do it for you ?, want to be sure before even log in , still gathering info and records. Is also any time frame since the moment you create your account with them?
Thanks to any inform answer.

DS just took his yesterday. You call the provider and schedule then plug those dates/times into the dodmets site. You have to take the vision before the medical so schedule vision first.

What if you already had your medical.. but couldn't get into the eye exam until a later date?

classof22, I think it's no issue. I just had my medical on Saturday and my eye exam is scheduled for Wednesday. DODMERB will probably review after they get both.

My DS took his eye exam and DODMERB last week. He took the exam first and then vision. That's how they scheduled it for him so I don't think it necessarily makes a difference.

DS had to call and schedule on his own. Provider was Concorde [private sector contractor] and medical exam was in a walk-in clinic in a strip mall.
Our location only performed DoDMERB exams at certain times [ I suspect had to be a specific trained / qualified personnel etc] and the other 99% of their business was employment related drug testing from the looks of it.

Of course if Concorde's gov't contract is up it could be a different low bidder doing this in the future.

Mileage may vary quite a bit.

In 2015, my DS was assigned by Concorde to a solo practice MD who clearly had done DoDMERB exams for a long time. Very in tune with what the requirements were. No staff or secretary, so she scheduled appointment via email which was a little frustrating. However, upon arrival, the exam was completely focused on what was on the questionnaire and the Dr. making sure that DS did not sabotage himself by "over answering" the questionnaire or using the wrong verbiage.

The applicant will call the Optometrist and Doctor to schedule the exams. They usually give you the available dates and times and you pick from there (We have always just asked for first available). The instructions say to schedule eye exam before physical, unless they are on the same day, then the order doesn't matter.

My son just received the email from DodMets. He is on vacation at my parents' house for 2 weeks; is it a problem for him to wait 2 weeks until he fills out the information on the website and schedules the exam?

No, it want be a problem, but the sooner the better; since he may require remedial's and/or a wavier. A wavier alone can take 4 weeks to many months to acquire.
