Hello,

I’m gonna guess this is a hard no. But I haven’t found anything online that truly answers my question. I am currently an AS100 in my university’s AFrotc program. But academically i am a junior. I have about 3 semesters until I get my bachelors. I know you can apply for OTS a year before graduation. Am I able to start applying next year? Or would being in AFROTC be a hindrance? I am still debated whether or not it is worth the time and money to pick up a masters to stay in the rotc program. Any advice? Is AFROTC a easier route to commission? Or would It be more worth it to just apply for OTS?

I know someone who did this back in the 80's at San Jose State and he got to UPT faster then the ROTC members did.

What did your cadre say?
I talked to my 100 instructor and he gave me some advice, in summary he told me that if this is the route I choose to do then ROTC would more likely cause some conflicts with the timelines of OTS, such as boards and meps, etc. So I decided to ultimately drop the program.
