Can I bring my pet Guinea Pig to USNA?

I texted mine the same. He laughed and said he was sure it was a mid posting as a joke. Whether it is a real post or not it deserved a chuckle.
Yes it is serious business that they are embarking on, which is why a few good laughs are needed now and then. Laughs are huge for everyone's mental health. Including the mids and parents.
My son told me the story about over plebe summer there was a plebe in the Company (not yours Bandad) who just couldn't keep their eyes on the boat. No matter what the detailer screamed the plebe just couldn't keep their eyes on the boat. It was a long hot day and the detailer was frustrated. So the detailer made the unfortunate plebe stand on the lawn, dancing a jig, with their rifle over their head screaming on the top of their lungs, "THIS PLACE IS GREAT, I THINK I'LL BUY IT!" over and over again while the rest of the company had to do pushups. DS and his buddy tried to keep it down, but they just couldnt. They burst out laughing. The two laughers got into way more trouble than the original unfortunate plebe. BUT DS said it was worth it and the best laugh he ever had. He smiled every time he thought of it and it helped him get through plebe summer.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just be sure when indicating your roommate preferences on your residency questionnaire to request "Non Boa Constrictor Pet Owner".

Right. That way they can match you and your gerbil up with a "boa constrictor pet owner".

During plebe summer last year, my DS roommate tried to bring fireflies back into Bancroft as "pets". From what I heard, even the detailers cracked a smile on that one (fireflies did not survive).
