Can I get a tattoo once at the academy?

I have been appointed to USNA, and was wondering if I could get a tattoo once at the academy. I already signed my form saying I don't have any body modifications, but I have wanted to get a tattoo for quite a while now. Is there a way I can get a tattoo verified or approved once in the academy and get it in the academy? I know I am going to get a lot of posts advising me not to get a tattoo, but it is a personal decision that I have wanted to do for the past 4 years. It will be small and on my back.

"Midshipmen are prohibited from acquiring body alterations while a member of the Brigade of Midshipmen or while a member of the Naval Academy Preparatory School."

I believe it has something to do with keeping good order and discipline, etc. They essentially own your skin during your time there.

They also own another part of your anatomy as long as you wear the uniform.

They will fry you with a conduct offense, put you on restriction and tours, and make you remove the tattoo, possibly at your own expense.

No tattoos.

The commandant is actually working to get this policy changed (because it makes no sense and doesn't correlate with the Big Navy's policy).

So there is hope for the future! But don't go getting a tattoo just yet.
