I know this seems very far in advance but I have other events around that same time and my mother is just the type of person to plan ahead. I was hoping to get information from anyone who has attended the R-day rehearsal (practice day with civilians.) I believe it is on July 24 this year and I would like to know the details of the day such as what time participants are expected to arrive and when approximately it is finished? Also would a visit with Academy admission be available the same day? Thank YOu

Oops yeah sorry that's a mistype. I believe, June 24, but that is only based on last year's date which I got from the older post given. I have read this page and I really like the idea I am just trying to get a better feel for the time frame.

I was planning on attending last year but I couldn't make it.

I'm pretty sure it's the day before R-Day (So Sunday before the last Monday in June, I think). It is the rehearsal obviously, where you do some of the basics of R-Day itself. I believe last year they started around 9 or so, and finished at about 1 or 2. It's only a few hours I think.

Check out the Public Affairs section of the usma website, it'll bring up the rehearsal as the date comes up.

I'm going to see if I can come this year!

I'm sure AF or another cadet will have an official answer soon for this year.

I attended R-Day rehearsal last year. It took place on the Friday before R-Day (Monday). It was a wonderful experience for a Mom! We had to arrive by about 8:30 am and were done around 2. Words of advice...she will be running around like a plebe so have your Mom wear sneakers (or other comfortable shoes--not sandals!), comfortable/cool clothing i.e., shorts/tshirt (it gets hot!). It was a great "inside" view of what RDay is like and YES, she will get yelled at--the cadre needs to practice their roles. But at the end of the day, we all talked and laughed together. I hope to attend again this year--I loved it!

It was a pretty cool day. You would think that you wouldn't be nervous being that it is only "practice", but you will be surprised. I couldn't help but thinking "I could be this kid's father, and he is screaming at me!!!". But everyone is a very good sport about it. I don't want to give away too much as the surprise is well worth it. I am very glad I did it.
