Can I still turn my nomination in

I'm in 11th grade. I submitted my pre candidate questionnaire, but I did not get a nomination. Should I get my nomination and keep the questionnaire submitted, or should I take out the questionnaire?
Also how does the nomination status update? It currently says none.
Really dumb question here, but how do you submit a military nomination?

You don't apply for or get a nomination in the 11th grade. You apply for, and hopefully receive a nomination, after you "Officially" apply for the academies. Which you haven't yet. So, I suggest you simply search this forum a lot for "Nominations"; LEARN as much as you can; and then be prepared come June/July to start OFFICIALLY applying to the academies. Until then, just search, read, and learn. ALL of your questions can be answered in this forum. You don't even have to ASK a question. ALL of them have pretty much been asked over the years. Just click the search button.

If you haven’t already, read every page, link and drop-down on the SA websites. Most answers are there.

Go to your elected officials’ websites, search for their service academy information pages, and read everything there.

Here on SAF, go to the Nominations forum, and read the Stickies at the very top.

Getting a nomination or nominations from various sources includes completing a multi-step process.

As the cycle ramps up for Class of 2024, now is the time to do your research using primary sources, take notes, build action plans, identify due dates, gather material, organize your information, work hard to get the best grades you can as you wrap up this academic year.

+1 to @Christcorp and @Capt MJ. There’s a lot to learn and a lot to know about this process. The good thing is, you have several months to do that before things become due. Do as they say, deeply and diligently.

On top of their very good advice, really strive to understand what you’re getting into — not just USAFA but also ADAF. Talk to cadets, alumni, officers, veterans, wherever and whenever you can find them. Learn about the careers and lifestyle. And then explore the other DOD branches, because AF may not be the only route for you.

This is a big decision, with a big commitment required — and that’s just the application process. Based on your post, your enthusiasm seems to be outrunning your knowledge. Slow down and understand. Best wishes to you.
