My son is currently boarded for an AROTC scholarship. He has applied to several universities and is awaiting acceptances from them. Can the PMS of the universities contact the admissions department and provide support for his application? If so, is it worth the effort to reach out to the PMS at each university he applied to? Should he visit/interview with each PMS at each university?
Can the PMS influence the university on an applicant's acceptance to the university?

If he has not made any contact with his top choice college's ROTC department, then I would suggest he reach out to the ROO now, just to have some contact and show his interest. I would also suggest he reach out after his ROTC scholarship is awarded , but before admissions decisions come out. Some units do have an influence with admissions, but not all do. After our DD was awarded her NROTC scholarship, she notified her university admissions representative and spoke with the NROTC unit, who also reached out to admissions on her behalf. She did get into her school early action, but we'll never know if any of this contact had an impact or if she would have been admitted anyway.

Maybe I'm reading your question wrong but......No, I don't see a PMS going to admissions on your son's behalf to help him get admitted just because your son is boarded. There are 100's of kids who are boarded who will never be offered a scholarship. If and when your son receives a scholarship, that *may* be a different story. It may depend on the school or even the PMS but over the years, some people have posted that the PMS was able to help out with admissions while others have posted that a PMS has no pull at all.
All that being said, the advice above is solid. You should make contact (and even visit) with the school's ROTC unit that your son is seriously considering. We did that and my son was actually able to spend the weekend with the Gonzaga unit and go out with them on a field exercise.

It depends on the school, and the relationship the ROTC program has with admissions.

1000% with clarkson...it depends! I also agree with k2rider, there are thousands of kids that apply for a scholarship, and in the end cadets on scholarship are in the minority.
Our DS was AFROTC, he never finished his application to NYU Sterns and never applied to UNCCH (NC resident), however, after he was awarded the scholarship, he received acceptance letters to both. I actually thought it was some sort of scam, like wanting me to pay money to get him in. I called admissions and they said indeed he was offered a slot because at both of these schools the AFROTC unit sat on the admissions board. The AFROTC unit knew he had the scholarship and was able to see his stats, thus they put him up for admissions. It does happen, but as others have stated it depends on the school.

I can't speak about hte AF, but in regards to Army ROTC. Most ROOs will contact the admissions department about students who have been offered an Army ROTC scholarship. I have had some students pulled of the wait list to accepted by doing this. Some of my school will even allow late admissions application if a student has an ROTC scholarship award.
Generally, speaking most ROTC cadre won't speak to admissions about a particular student until they have a scholarship award. A few of us do provide the admissions department a list of names of students who have applied for a scholarship at our school, to make sure they also submitted an admissions application.
