Hello, I have noticed that on the sites for both USNA Summer Seminar and for West Point SLE there is more than one week listed, such as:

SESSION 1
JUNE 4 - JUNE 9
SESSION 2
JUNE 11 - JUNE 16
SESSION 3
JUNE 18 - JUNE 23

Can you choose what session to go to?

I only wondered because of making sure that I could attend both this coming summer if I get in, as well as trying to squeeze in an ROTC camp at the Citadel, as well as Boys state.

Thanks,
Christian Basulto

First, I'd strongly suggest removing your full name, as this is a public site and anyone can easily look it up. Second, when applying for USNASS and SLE you can select preferences for sessions, but it's not guaranteed.

You can rate which dates you prefer on the application but in the end, it is up to admissions. You have a say but there is no guarantee. Also PS: these forums are anonymous.

This year I was offered SLE first for a specific date, which I accepted. Later on I was offered NASS, but it overlapped with my SLE dates l. I tried to change this, but was denied due to availability, and could not attend NASS.

Should you get into more than one, you can request to change a previously stated preference. If DD’s experience is representative, should be no issue with telling them you want to attend another SA’s summer session. They won’t be surprised, as there are numerous double- and triple-dippers. As stated above, the main issue seems to be capacity. So make the request early.

My Mid put down he'd take any of the 3 weeks for NASS on the application. As soon as he was accepted and given a week he was still in school, he requested to change to a different week. Didn't hear anything for a long time and then they emailed him that it was approved.
