Hi friends, just was wondering if anyone else receive a PDF in they're portal recently similar to this.
The letter/PDF states as such:

"Congratulations! We have received all your application information and the Admissions Committee has qualified your file. You are exactly the type of outstanding candidate the United States Military Academy is seeking.

You received a Letter of Assurance based on the overwhelming strength of your file. West Point will begin tendering most appointments at the end of February 2019 and yours will be in the first wave of packets mailed out at that time.

You have demonstrated strong initiative and diligence in completing your file early. I encourage you to continue to update your record with significant achievements in academic, leadership, and extracurricular and athletic activities. Do not forget to include standardized test scores or updated transcripts from your most recently completed academic semester. We will continue to add achievements to your file through the end of February 2019."

Has anyone received this before, and if so what did it mean? I do not want to get my hopes up too quickly if it is not a confirmation of a BFE on the way.

Thank you. I've never been one to jump to conclusions, and I figured a few of you guys would have experience with this before, so I wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were. Thanks again.
Go Army! Beat Navy!

This is your 3Q letter. Confirmation that you are Academically, Physically and Medically qualified. This letter, and a nomination indicate that you are eligible for appointment. Do as it says and attempt to improve your test scores and add significant achievements to your file.

Best of luck,
Go Army!

Although the wording is a bit different than the LOA my DD got, it sure looks like an LOA. Congrats!

Bonehead move on my part. Yes it is sorry folks. A little sleepy and didn't read it all. Certainly a LOA.

What a minute.

Now I know why the wording on this letter is different than that of my DD’s LOA.

This memo looks like a 3Q letter.

First of all, @hunterthehulk ‘s letter showed up as a pdf in the portal just like my DD’s did. The LOA for my DD never showed up in the portal. It just came via snail mail.

Also, the letter said the candidate RECEIVED a LOA, which means the candidate actually got an LOA sometime in the past. Please confirm you got something via snail mail.

Also, take a look at the signature block. My DD’s LOA was signed by COL McDonald. The 3Q letter was signed by her RC.

Yes folks, I received my LOA in September of 2018. And that was from Col. McDonald, Director of admissions.
This PDF is from my admissions officer, the Southwest Regional Commander of admissions, not Col. McDonald.

I reached out to him to ask this means I will be receiving a BFE sometime soon (for confirmation and so I could make sure I read his words with the correct connotation) and he confirmed that yes I will be receiving a BFE when West Point starts sending out more packets, so I guess great news all around.

I received an LOA in October and they invited me over for a visit. I later got a letter saying that I was physically and academically qualified
