Hey this is my first post on here, and I just wanted to let you all know a bit about my situation... I'm a rising high school senior who used to be obese and lost 75 pounds in order to get into better shape... however, after this weight loss, I had almost no strength whatsoever. I have been working out for about a year, starting out with about 5 push-ups to now close to 40. Unfortunately that isn't anywhere near the passing score for the cfa... I don't know if any of you were in my shoes, but im about right under minimum for all the requirements. I still have a year to train, but Id like some advice from some of you who have gone through this.

In less than a year. If you are already near 40 push-ups, keep working. Work on your pull-ups and sit-ups as well. Stew's programs should help. Please follow the advice to the letter, including giving your body rest so it can recover.

And also if your family can swing it might be good to consult a nutritionist. Congrats on the huge weight lose, that is amazing and you should be proud. A nutritionist could help with a proper diet that helps support strength which may also help you shake up the plateau.

I may be able to pay for it witht he money earned working this summer. Thanks for the great advice all of you... I started that training program today by the way

Good for you. This will be a great personal story to use for your essay and overcoming adversity interview questions. But be clear - you don't have a year. More like 6 months.

If you had the tenacity to lose 75 lbs, you have the ability to do well on the CFA.
