I just got word of my official candidacy for the Class of 2017! I went to log into the Candidate Information System, but cannot seem to locate the link on the admissions page. Any help?

Note: I tried the "continue application" button, but the username and password i was given didn't work

Thanks!

How did you hear about your official candidacy for the Class of 2017? I got into NASS but haven't heard anything else since then.

Same here. There's not much to do as far as the application process with USNA directly.

CIS is located at https://candidateinformation.usna.edu/. I suggest that you bookmark the link.

Not sure why your username and password aren't working; perhaps a message to Admissions (http://usna.edu/admissions/contact.htm) or the webmaster (webmail@usna.edu) is in order.

My candidacy letter (which is indeed different from the NASS acceptance/rejection letter) was dated 25 May 2011. It's coming. OP lives in D.C., so the mail probably got to him sooner.

I got mine today. Same white envelope that everything has come in so far.

DS just got his letter today. Now, to see if he can get into the CIS.....Nope. His username and password don't seem to be working either.

nuensis, that linked worked! Thanks! And I received it in the mail in DC, so I was likely one of the first considering my proximity to USNA.

Can you edit forms after submission on the website? Or once you click submit is it set?

I'm in Ohio and didn't get anything today. What exactly will this username and password allow us to do?

Access all of the online application. I'm sure you'll get it soon so don't worry:smile:

Also, for the athletics section, would Scholar Athlete Awards or Sportsmanship Awards qualify as Special Awards?

Still haven't gotten mine yet and I'm from Maine. My friend from STEM who lives in Oregon already got his. lol

Did we bring the entire usna.edu site down? I am not only unable to access the CIS, I can't get to usna.edu. Sheesh.

Once you click submit, the only way you can update that information is through Admissions (preferably by emailing your admissions representative, whose contact information is listed in CIS).

Make sure you follow USNA's suggestion and print a copy of everything you submit. That way, you will know what you have submitted and what information needs to be updated.

I would suggest putting anything and everything you can, as long as it's between grades 9-12 and you can fit it in. Let USNA decide what to do with that information, but definitely don't leave out achievements because you think they're not "worthy" or "significant" enough or something like that.

So how do you go about updating SAT/ACT scores? By just putting down USNA as a college for your scores to be sent to when you register?

Anything that changes/modifies your activities record requires the school official to validate that. This includes ANY and EVERY time.

Yes.
