DS checks his Candidate portal daily and today his DoDMERB status now appears on the bottom left portion of the portal under his activities. He's been medically qualified since July so it's nothing new, but the fact that it now appears on the portal is new. Did any one else's portal change to include DoDMERB status recently?

My DS noticed that change yesterday also. I know it wasn't shown before he started to receive his MOC nominations.

Thanks--after the first nomination it wasn't there, but he just received his 2nd Congressional Nom and the same day that appeared, the DoDMERB status appeared too.

Portal Change

My DS has been DoDMERB qualified since early October. He is home from college and has had 3 nomination interviews this week. Yesterday, he received his "first" nomination in the mail from his Congressional Representative. He went on to the portal just to see if the nomination had been posted. It has yet to be posted, but we noticed the medical status tab had been added and that he was listed as "Qualified". He is re-applying this year. Last year he had 3 nominations, DoDMERB qualified in Sept., but never remembered ever seeing a medical status tab! At least we know where he stands thus far! Good luck :thumb:

My DS has also been medically qualified since July, but his DoDMERB status has now changed since the MOC nomination. I also thought it was a good sign!

Mine changed as well; I've also been qualified since September. I learned that I received a congressional nomination yesterday, the same day my portal changed.

I'm yet to do the medical exam(s). It showed up today - "Request for Medical Scheduling" or something to the like... Dec. 23rd, 2011.

Wow. You need to hurry up. Those should have been finished months ago. These issues can seriously delay any possible appointment. ConsiserIng dodmerb is a long and grueling process you might not be medically qualified until mid February. And if your file is not complete you cannot recieve an appointment.

Yeah i finished mine in the 5 days they said for me to get them in. Better in sooner than later. It shows how "on top" of you application you are: they look at that I think.

DS portal also shows that new line for DODMERB but hasn't rec' a nomination yet...last year got 2 but nothing so far.... Wonder what it means....

DS was DODMERB qualified since last summer...this is is second time around... NWL last years... Just posted his CFA yesterday and now everything is complete...just waiting for grades to post from college.

Bottom Line--
Check your Portal at least 3-4 times a week. If you have a question immediately call your Admissions team at West Point.
My advice, do not call your local congressional coordinator. These are part-time coordinators (probably Retired West Pointers living in the local area) and are not as expert as the actual West Point Admissions people. Some of them are VERY good but others are not. My son's coordinator last year was not a big help and was even a problem from time-to-time.

Yes I know, I have been trying to schedule my medical exams since August.

Mine changed also, it was weird. I'm going out on a limb here, but I have a friend who's portal has not changed to show his qualified status (he was qualified before me), so I think this is a very good sign. I have two nominations, and it was not there when I had just my first nomination on the portal. Now that I have received my second, it is on the portal. I remember thinking how odd it was, I am glad to know that I am not the only one noticing this change.
