I posted a thread like this a while ago, and was told to wait... So I'm wondering now when the candidate portal for USNA opens, as I submitted my preliminary application months ago, and I know they got it and think I'm competitive, as I was accepted into NASS. Any thoughts are highly appreciated.

The Admissions Office told me today that candidate numbers have NOT been issued yet. They had hoped to send them out in May but it didn't happen unless an email goes out tonight. Should be soon.

There'll definitely be a lot of talk on this forum once the first wave of numbers get issued, till then I wouldn't sweat it. Just focus on nominations, practicing for the CFA, and keeping a strong application.

BGO's were advised final reviews/checks of the 2028 application are occurring and candidates will receive the information needed to proceed as soon as admissions can get them out. Patience young jedis.

This is a great time to compile all of the info you need to complete your application. Prepare a 'yeah me' list of accomplishments, awards, recognitions, sports wins, competitions entered, and awards earned. This is also a time to prep your teachers for the mandatory evaluations they will need to complete.

Time to prep for your MOC applications and the VP nomination (Presidential as well if you are eligible). Those due dates for MOC applications come months before USNA.

This is a really long process, and if you are offered an appointment, different versions of this waiting game will occur over your career in the Navy. Hurry up and wait happens a lot. You might be told you were going to find out about an internship, scholarship, or training on a particular date, only to have that goal post moved repeatedly.

Developing skills to fill that time with productive actions and let go of the 'hurry up' mindset will help you in the long run.

yes to ALL of the above AND start contacting ALL of your drs that you have visited now and request all medical records to be sent to you - if you have everything in front of you during the medical questionnaire it makes it so much easier to have all the diagnosis codes etc!!!

I received my Candidate number two weeks ago from my BGO. Portal has been open for me since.
