Hello everyone! I am currently a candidate for the C/o 2025. I have seen these posts a billion times, and I understand there is never a direct answer to this question; however, I am more looking for areas where I can improve on my application and where my strengths are from the admissions standpoint. Everyone on here seems to be pretty seasoned on the topic, so I welcome any feedback I can get.
Academics:
GPA- 3.65 (unweighted), 4.02 (weighted)
Many Honors/AP courses all throughout HS
SAT: 1300 (waiting on the two other scores, but I expect higher)
ACT: 28 (I think second score will be higher as well)
Honors/Awards:
Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and English, The Neuqua Honors Award, Honor Roll every semester of HS
Extracurriculars:
Editor-in-Chief of school newspaper (member since 10th grade), President of Women's Empowerment Club (member since 10th grade), PE Leader (competitive leadership program for juniors and seniors), Senior Advisor (competitive class at my school where I lead a class of freshmen), Aspiring Medical Professionals Club (member since 9th grade), Model UN (11th and 12th grade), Dr. Rubin's Mini Medical School (accelerated medical program preview for HS students, opportunity to TA after), Student Athletic Trainers (11th and 12th grade- treat athletes' injuries on and off the field)
Athletics:
JV Track and Field (9th grade and 11 grade)
JV Girl's Soccer (10th grade), Hoping for varsity this year (12th grade)
Travel soccer team (9, 10, 11, 12- not the actual captain but my coach has commended my leadership on the team- he does not give out the title)
Work:
-Started my own cookie selling business in 9th grade and have sold to neighbors, family friends, and peers since then
-Started a lawn mowing business with my friend over the summer of 10th grade - mowed multiple lawns within a week
-Worked as a camp counselor (without pay) over the summer of 10th grade and 11th grade - in charge of other camp counselors as well
-Just started a job working as a server in an assisted living home to get experience with people (putting in about 20 hrs/week)
-Just started volunteering as the greeter/aftercare person at a blood donation center (putting in about 7 hrs/ week)
CFA (haven't taken officially yet, but these are my practice scores)-
BB throw: 37 feet
Pull-Ups: 2
Shuttle Run: 9.4 (any recommendations for what kind of surface to do this test on? I keep slipping)
Crunches: 95
Push-Ups: 38
Mile: 8:32
Thank you so much!
