This may have been buried in one of other CVW weekend posts but didn't think I saw it. We're taking our DS up for his CVW on March 1st for the March 2-4 session. He thought he saw that he would be allowed to PT with the Brigade on Saturday morning before coming back to us to conclude the CVW. Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge whether this is correct or not? He is actually hoping he can.

Thank you.

My son was told he could. Saturday came and he wasn’t.

Toss in a PT clothes. They don’t take up much space. He should take a sweatshirt anyhow bc the rooms can be cold. Then he is ready, either way.

Thanks all, exactly what I was looking for. Figured someone else had to have encountered the same.

It depends on what’s happening. When my son went last February the Brigade had a PRT Sat morning do joining was not an option. He did go for a run on the Yard with his plebe and roommates. Friday night they played pickle ball, dodgeball, ordered in food, and worked on bulletin boards.

in October my son went on the weekend they were doing their PRT so that was not an option. Fortunately they allowed them to complete the CFA which was scored and recorded for his application.

My other son who is a youngster said that they do not CVW candidates to do the SMT (Saturday morning trainings) for concern of injury and liability.

Current plebe here! Drags are not allowed to participate in Company morning workouts as we don't want anyone getting injured or passing out (liability). Usually, we just have the drags either sleep in or come and watch depending on what we're doing. All drags for CVW have the option to take a CFA on the Saturday that they stay.

When my DS went to CVW, he participated in company Sea Trails Training on Saturday morning. For context, that was early spring, 2019. Things may have changed.

DS attended CVW Spring 22 - No participation in organized PT but went on a run with a few plebes and Friday night the company went to the pool for a team building activity.

My son packed PT clothes (Feb and Sept CVWs in 2022) hoping he could do the AM PT but like others he wasn’t able to but he was able to do some fun stuff Fri night - he and his plebe went to the gym with his plebe’s friends and they all had a lot of fun just hitting around in the squash courts a while and working out. So: pack the clothes you never know!

I'm glad to hear this. My ds is hoping to be able to take his CFA at CVW weekend.
