Son is tripled Q'd, has presidential nomination and contacted almostly weekly by coach........ Still no news here! We noticed the candidate log in page has added info to the bottom portion-- an update on required immunizations, etc... as some candidates admit kits were sent out from USMA with old forms.
Does anyone else have that on their site?
If your nomination is Presidential, who notifies you if you are offered an appointment?

The waiting is so hard!

My son is a prep at NMMI. He told me that the preps with presidential nominations, that have received their appointments, were never notified they just showed up in their mailbox one day.

Where on the candidate login do you see the additional information? Is it on the page that comes up right after you type in the login id and password? What is showing up besides immunizations?

the info shows up on the page -- after you login, before you access anything-

ALL CANDIDATES READ THE IMPORTANT MESSAGE BELOW ABOUT THE USMA IMMUNIZATION RECORD FORM 5-516. Due to an assembly error in the Candidate Admit Kits, some candidates may have received an outdated version of the Immunization Record Form 5-516.

IF YOU HAVE NOT YET COMPLETED OR RETURNED THE FORM TO USMA: If you received Form 5-516, Immunization Record Form, with the 2/28/2006 expiration date in the upper right hand corner, discard the form. Print the updated Form 5-516, Immunization Record Form, Expiration date 7/31/2009. Complete and return the updated form in the business envelope provided in your Candidate Admit Kit.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY MAILED THE FORM TO USMA:
a. Ensure that you provided proof of your Adult booster shot for Polio, Virus Vaccine (OPV, IPV). The OPV, IPV Adult booster shot is a military requirement.
b. Ensure that you provided proof of your blood type (lab result) along with the Varicella titer (lab result).
c. If you did not provide the above items when you mailed in your Immunization Record Form, you can send in the items separately.
d. You may fax the additional information to Mologne Cadet Health Clinic at 845-938-5777, ATTN: Head Nurse or you may mail the above items separately to the Director of Admissions, USMA, 606 Thayer Road, West Point, NY 10996.
e. You may request additional business reply envelopes at admissions@usma.edu.

The Admissions point of contact regarding the above message is Major Shelly Jackson at 845-938-5701.

Maybe I misread your original post - your son has not yet received his offer of appointment, is that correct?

Why would they be asking for immunization information if you haven't yet been offered an appointment? I thought the immunization form was part of the paperwork once you ACCEPT your appointment.

dedicated1 - perhaps as a bit of encouragement, let me tell you what happened to our son. Last Saturday, "out of the blue" a VP nomination came in the mail, as well as, an Offer of Appointment from USMA. This was TOTALLY unexpected! We immediately went to his candidate login page and it had the same thing on it as your son's page. So if I were a bettin' woman, I would bet that your son's Offer of Appointment is on its way.

Same thing happened here yesterday on my candidate login, but no news yet of appointment. Waiting to call and find out something positive! :D

BTW this was after I was told last week by WP that they believed they would be able to offer me an appointment within the next two weeks.

Well, perhaps it's that changes to the cadet candidate website move with the speed of light, and appointments move with the speed of the mail carriers (think Newman here). Perhaps a phone call to admissions to "clarify" the situation is in order.

I tried calling admissions and unfortunately their 'speed of light' was down at the time and the mailman happened to be faster.....

I'M IN!!!!!!!

Great!! Finally some good news. F&P, you've no idea how happy I am for you. Bout time it came! LOL

And Dedicated! How cool was it for that package to come today, giving you the entire week-end to float around in the clouds!

Congratulations! :thumb: Hopefully next week I will be able to post the same news about my son.

Okay now I am really confused.

Today I found out the stuff about the immunization forms (same as dedicated1 referred to) showed up on my son's candidate login screen. My son's counselor at NMMI told him it only means he is qualified and nothing else.

From what I have read here it sounds like the offer appointment comes in the mail a few days after this pops up on the candidate's login screen. So I don't know if the good news is coming or if we are still waiting.

WAMom- that is what happened here. We had not looked at the website due to Spring Break... (maybe a 5 day period) Clicked on site, noticed all the notes in red about immunizations. That was last Wednesday4/4.... On Friday, 4/6 in the mail was the the BIG PACKAGE!
Since then we have taken care of the immunizations, police record, birth certificate and banking stuff. I do believe S has earned the right to now enjoy the rest of Senior year without any more "honey do's"!!

I am sure the days are going to fly by--
Just need some guidance now with HOTEL choices!!!!!

Thanks for the information dedicated1. I guess I just need to think positive until the snail mail makes its way to New Mexico.

GOOD NEWS!!!!! My son received his offer of appointment in the mail today!!!!

This is me:

:wiggle: This little happy dance if for you! Many congrats!
