I agree with this!As an applicant right now, definitely smoke more! The academy loves it!
I'm old enough to remember when it seemed going through Alky Rehab was a requirement to make Senior and Master Chief. Unfortunately that changed when I became eligible and had to make it the hard way. Except 9. They kicked me out before then. The ironic thing as far as the military is that booze is the substance that has caused the major problems.
Federal prisons, the brigs, court martial s, assaults, fights, domestic violence , auto deaths or injuries, and what do you see connecting so many of these
booze
And as far as the VA and the costs there , it’s going to be booze and cigs , which have drained so many millions for Rx.
And in many places now MJ is being used as a legit Rx and prescribed by medical'
professionals.
Doc I realize the times have changed and are changing as far as booze.I'm old enough to remember when it seemed going through Alky Rehab was a requirement to make Senior and Master Chief. Unfortunately that changed when I became eligible and had to make it the hard way. Except 9. They kicked me out before then.
Tried to let this go, but can't. You are ill-informed if you think marijuana is not bad for you. We are just learning about all the carcinogens, and the effects on everything from your respiratory system to your digestive system, your immune system, your circulatory system, your brain function, and your liver can be dramatic and long lasting for regular users. The effects on your reaction time and your judgement are as great or greater than alcohol and are resulting in an increasing number of DUI injuries and deaths where marijuana has been decriminalized on the state level. You can call me whatever names you want to make yourself feel better, but the bottom line is that I don't want my kids on a ship around heavy machinery with a pothead.Yeah it's not federally legal, so no.
Look I don't think weed is bad for you (it's not) but if the military says "no you can't smoke it, it's illegal" then don't smoke it. Plain and simple.
Alcohol and tobacco are widely used, yes, but they are federally legal.
OK i'd argue with you, but this isn't the place for it. To be honest, I shouldn't have even made the post I made above ^Tried to let this go, but can't. I mean... hey, it'll help admissions remember you.I think it might be ok. In your essays you should talk about how great marijuana has been for you. Lead by example - get stoned before any interviews.
