Capitol Hill: Blocking Military Leadership Confirmations, Defunding Ukraine, Ending Affirmative Action at Service Academies.

... so I'm posting my moral conscience here after watching the news from Capitol Hill. There's an active blocking of military leadership confirmations (650 positions including USMC missing a Commandant) and initiatives to defund Ukraine and to end affirmative action at the Service Academies.
Rhetorical question: What's going on?
 
I’ve been following from afar and from what I’ve heard/read, at least in terms of affirmative action, it is primarily posturing and is extremely unlikely to pass the Senate
 
Two different issues.

Sen Tommy Tuberville is holding up those 100s of senior military appointments by himself. I’d suggest googling why so we don’t get into a discussion here about the why.

The budget is where support for Ukraine , affirmative action etc comes under attack.

As pointed out before here , support for Ukraine , is very much going to be a 2024 political issue in the US.

Oh, what is your source saying they don't weigh ethnic minority status into the decision? They have VERY proudly published minority student stats for years, and released several statements on attempting to increase those numbers.
