Careers after Merchant Marine Academy

I'm looking into the Merchant Marine Academy. I was wondering, is it guaranteed that I can become an officer in the Navy after graduation? Or, is there a risk that that might not happen.

Short answer: as long as you meet the requirements, basically, yes. The "normal" path is you recieve a commission as an Ensign in the Naval Reseve upon graduation. There's alot more to it than that but you can get lots more details about the options and opportunities upon graduation from numerous threads already posted on this Forum.
