I'm curious as to the effect that my major has on the types of jobs that I will be able to perform after my time at USAFA. Will an electrical engineering major be able to do jobs related to that major as an Air Force officer or will I likely have my job picked for me regardless of my major?

This will totally depend upon you and the needs of the AF. IF you desire to fly, then your academic major means nothing...I'm an engineer, my roommate from my doolie squadron was a history major and an outstanding F-15 pilot. My senior year roommate was an amazing AF engineer, received his PhD, and now works in the AF labs at Wright Patterson AFB.

Pick the major you WANT...then based upon your eligibility you will fill out your "dream sheet" of jobs you'd really like to have. Then the AF will look and see what works best for BOTH of you, with the understanding that THEY have first pick.
