Hi everyone, I'm new here to the forum and have been trying to glean as much information as I can. I've been accepted into the Summer Seminar for this year and am very excited. I did have one question. I had recently talked to a friend who attend the Naval Academy Summer Seminar. He told me that he did his CFA test in the seminar and his scores became part of his application. I had believed that during a Summer Seminar, only practice CFA tests will be conducted and that the scores would not be counted. I was wondering if someone would be able to clarify this matter for me? Thanks.

The CFA at the USAFA Summer Seminar will NOT be counted towards your application, whether you want it to or not. However, you should still prepare for it because your element leader will be evaluating you on your physical fitness; this evaluation will become part of your application. So, though it may not count, you should use it as a way to benchmark yourself and also to make a good impression.

My CFA at the Naval Academy Summer Seminar DID count and was the only CFA I ever took. Also, that score was forwarded to my Air Force Academy application. I have received official Appointment offers from both academies.

I have had a daughter attend NASS and one attend USAFASS . The D who did NASS did her CFA there and it did count for her app., plus it also went to USAFA. The other D did a CFA also at USAFA but it did not count towards app. ,they say it is bc of the altitude . It isnt fair for kids from different areas. It is all in what your body is use to. So needless to say she did it at home here with her coach.

go navy81, you are correct. My daughter attended NASS and USAFASS last summer and at NASS they counted her results but she still had an opportunity to submit another CFA with her official application. At USAFASS they told her the same thing they told your daughter. That it didn't count because of the altitude.

I asked my ALO about this and he said that as far as he knew, the CFA at SS counts. Perhaps it has recently been changed?

Maybe he thinks it counts because your cadet may look at it some in giving you your evaluation, but other than that it really shouldn't play a role in admissions.
