CFA for NASS

nge2457, I run in the street (on the shoulder, of course!) rather than the sidewalk because asphalt is a little easier on the joints than pavement is. Just make sure to look out for cars, and only run on quiet neighborhood roads!

It also helps to have great running shoes. Saucony has some pretty good ones that don't break the bank. I always wear insoles in mine for extra padding.

Finally, if your knees bother you, you can wear knee straps like the ones made by Ace. I used to get OSD when I was playing tennis 12-15 hours a week, and these straps pretty much solved the problem for me. Of course, if you truly are injured, don't try to train through it. ;) It will not work out well. :D

Thanks for the tip @wildblueyonder ! I use asics but it might be time for them to retire haha! Im always constantly worried my knees will get in the way of my dream. Theyre not necessarily bad but can get sore at times. Ive started doing yoga and eating more spinach, veggies, etc., taking rest days (which is very hard for me because im so restless haha!)
Anything i can do to keep my joints happy :)

but my push-ups die at about 1 1/2 minutes at 60. I'm trying to get to 75, but I just die out so quickly with the series of exercises.
If you die at 1 1/2 minutes at 60 don't try to do 60 in 1 1/2 minutes. Stop in the up position for a few seconds right before you die and gather yourself, that way you can make the most of the entire time allotted.

What I mean is, if you are at 55 and you feel like you are about to die and there is an entire minute left, it doesn't make sense to try and squeeze out 5 more in the next 5 seconds and die. A better approach would be to take a quick breather in the up position and then after a few seconds start doing more push ups.

Anyone have tips for doing the sit ups faster? I can go at a steady pace for the entire 2 minutes but I just go so slowly that I don't get that great of a score. I'm going as fast as I can the whole time too and I'm not even that tired at the end....

If you live near forest preserves with trails those come in handy to practice running I do a lot of forest preserve running (usually 5 miles every other day) and have seen a big improvement in stamina and speed
