(Female) recovering from mult. Injuries this year (concussion & ankle injury)
Bball throw: 28
FAH: 35, I've been working so hard to get 1 pull up
Shuttle run: 10.3
Sit ups: 89
Push ups: 50
Mile: 6:17
Pls help lol, I'm nervous because my 1st 3 events are shaky

As a female also, here are some takes:
- Basketball throw. A lot of it comes down to form. It's probably not something you're not strong enough for, just some methods on how to do it. Really get your hips and core engaged and throw it at a 45 degree angle up, not just forward. Think about pulling something to the ground, not pushing. This helped me a lot:
- Pull-ups: Honestly, for the pull-ups, I started with none and got 3. Just start from the ground up. Pull-up negatives, even holding onto a door and leaning back. The assisted pull-up machine, which you can find at maybe a rec center or gym helps. It took me about a month to get it, so you'll be okay. It's better to get at least one versus the FAH.
- Shuttle Run: Make sure you're athletic on this. Stay low when you have to touch the line and always push off the ground. Practice a lot and learn how to use ground force and form to generate speed. Pump your arms and be quick - don't necessarily have to be the fastest person on the planet to do well on this.
Everyone else you look great. I know injuries can be hard but don't give up! I really hope the best for you regarding the Academy, or whatever you do. You got it! Keep working hard

My daughter struggled initially throwing the basketball until we watched some of these video’s. What helped her get the technique down and the guy in the video above demonstrated this is during the warm up swivel the basketball from side to side with both hands in contact. This helps you figure out how to get your hips and shoulders into the throw. Regarding the pull-ups she is in her second year at the academy and still struggles with the pull-ups. She can max the setups, push-ups and does really good on the run but those pull-ups are still hard for her. I think on a good day she gets two and on most days is happy with one. Also watch those video‘s on how to do the shuttle run. They really do help.

Thank you for your tips!
I had to get it done this week.
Here are my results any thoughts? My alchilles I partially tore and it hasnt fully healed so running really hurts.
Bball: 37
Pull ups: 2
Shuttle: phat rip 10.3
Situps: 95
Push-ups: 50
Mile: usually my best event and I ran so bad today, 6:58

Cracker123 - You are required to report any changes in medical status to DoDMERB. I hope you have done so. If not, ALL the medical records surround your concussion and ankle injury should be submitted to DoDMERB:wiggle:

Don’t worry too hard about the shuttle run and bball throw. I’d try to get at least one pull up though.
