Excuse me for posting yet another one of “these” threads, however I would appreciate a few opinions on my test results. I took both the PFA and the CFA.
BBall throw: 57ft av
Pull up: 18
PU 1 min: 57
PU 2min: 75
Sit up 1 min: 64
Sit up 2 min: 95
Shuttle run: 9.9
1 mile: 7:33
1.5mile: 11:34
I have been practicing all events for a long time and I am ashamed for my run time, shuttle, and BB. It was windy, though I think I was just not fast enough with my strides. Do you think I can submit these scores and not be looked at negatively? Thank you for your time. I am a 5”5 129 lb male who does powerlifting of all things🙄 GPA unweighted 3.95 and medium/good resume.

Just out of curiosity, did you take both the CFA and the PFA in one test or two separate occasions? I only ask because your 1 mile pace should be different than your 1.5 mile pace. If you were running 1.5 miles and still timing the 1 mile run, you could be going a lot faster. Also, in brutal honesty, your shuttle run is bad. Make sure you doing it on a good surface and know that technique is everything. I am not a very fast guy but I managed to run a super fast shuttle run because of little details in my technique. Congrats on maxing out pull-ups, sit-ups, and pushups though! That definitely helps you.

I did both tests together in one sitting. I am not sure why my mile and 1.5 mile pace were so similar, but I find that I am better at endurance than speed. Thank you for your response

I am that same way! What I am trying to say is that I SOLD OUT on my CFA mile. I collapsed and puked at the end of the mile run because I essentially sprinted the last 300 meters. If I was running 1.5 miles my time would have been much slower. I wouldn't have pushed myself all the way to the edge at the end because I would still have two more laps. In order to get your best score, you have to give it everything you have.

Your CFA looks good. BB throw benefits from practice and technique. It was pretty funny watching my DS's first practice. We didn't work much on it to be honest. He practiced about 10 throws three different times to get some form down but otherwise didn't focus on it. So if that was your first time throwing a BB, practice a couple of times and you'll improve it.

Your mile run can improve a lot by...obviously running. You have to weigh your priorities. Is spending more time on the CFA more beneficial than watching Netflix? Yes. Is it more beneficial than studying for the ACT/SAT, eh, probably not unless if you have taken it yet already. Is it better to squeak out every last drop of CFA points vs pursuing other interests in your life? Only you can answer that...

The only thing that stands out to me as mentioned above. The run time and the shuttle. The shuttle has room for improvement. My son tried on a gym floor, which was no good, switched to the concrete outside the gym door and it improved markedly. Like the poster above, he totally sold out on the CFA mile, got it done, and met the time an admissions counselor told him to hit. He was under it by a few seconds. He puked and felt like crap but was happy to have done it. He continued to run and train over the winter to be ready in case he was offered an appointment.
He did his CFA and PFA separately on different days. That might benefit you as well. Good job on those push-ups and situps!
