I know that USNA uses a point system to determine the competitiveness of a candidate. So, what point accumulation would these CFA scores get?

Mile: 6:59
Pull Ups: 19
Push Ups: 75
Sit Ups: 95
Shuttle Run: 8.7
Basketball Throw: 75 feet

Thanks for any feedback.
I am still CPR, FYI.

I scored about the same as you

Mile: 7:00
Pull Ups: 18 (the max is 18, if you do 19 it still counts as 18)
Push Ups: 75
Sit Ups: 95
Shuttle Run 8.1 (i dont remember the exact number but I remember I was close to maxing)
Basketball Throw: (i dont remember the exact #, but 75 ish)

I am also currently CPR and I am interested for any other feedback. However, it might be one of those things that only admissions knows. Either way, we both need to work on our mile run and basketball throw! Good Luck!

About 650/800 (competitive). The only thing holding that score back is the mile time.

So would you say that this info would mean that I would be considered, point wise, like an All-American Athlete? The only reason my mile was so slow was because I was recovering from an ankle injury. Theoretically, if I were to get my mile down to a 6 minute mile, would that score be quintessentially perfect?

Found this on another post pertaining to CFA scoring:

"But seriously, My answer is based on this report Rand report http://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/research_reports/RR700/RR723/RAND_RR723.pdf around page 10. It shows the WCS calculation used in the late 1990's. Yes the information is dated, almost 20 years old, but it is the best Published information that I have seen. I am sure the scoring has changed. I am sure it will be different for each SA. But I would bet that it is similar and what we do have in this report gives a great insite into what the SA is looking for.

Below is from the report:

Athletic Activity Level Points
An outstanding athlete (All-American, 1st team All-Area selection in baseball/softball, basketball, or football) and athletic rating of either 1 or 2 in the sport in which honors are received or a CFA score greater than 650. 800 Points"

My CFA was poor, I know it was because USAFA did not originally accept my CFA scores sent to them from USNA. However I spoke to a blue and gold officer as well as an admissions officer from USNA who said I was qualified and don't need to retake the CFA...... this has me worried because I did significantly better on my second CFA but I feel as though it's too late to send it in

The Rand Report you mention is for USMA CFA scoring. USNA does not publish CFA minimums, CFA scoring criteria (except max scores) or the WCS score. Do the best you can is all you can do. You also mention you are CPR. At this point there is nothing you can do about your scores. They are in, you passed, you wait. You are in the final days of 'the wait'. Good luck!

Agreed, I suppose the wait is just killing me like everybody else.

I am in the NROTC at VT and for my last PT I got I 92 pushups in 2 mins 103 sit ups in 2 mins and 9:49 mile and a half is that competitive for USNA? I put those scores in my application as well.

Yes. That is the Midshipmen PRT that you have scores for. That would put in a solid range for a grade at USNA for the PRT. If you google USNA PRT scores you should be able to score you test and see you are probably at a solid A scoring wise which is very good.

Well its really not killing you. Its stressful and full of anxiety, but killing you is a stretch (please see I am smiling and joking with you). I know this is the biggest decision of your life right now, but 10 years from now you will realize although it was one of the biggest there will have been so many others. I have said this over and over again, this is training for your future "hurry up and wait" in the military. These will happen every 2-3 years in the military. Waiting on orders, school selections, promotion boards, command boards, selection boards, PCS orders, etc. A few years ago pilot selection rates for 0-4 were below 50% for the USN (this has changed, so no panic for wanna be future pilots). So picture having a spouse and 2 kids, you are in Japan, planning to make this a career and now you are out of a job flying fighter jets and have to figure out how to feed a spouse and 2 kids while living in a foreign country? About 10 years ago I had a buddy who was split from their spouse due to orders, one west coast and other east coast. Had 1 kid and 1 on the way. They were waiting on orders to see if they would be co-located. First set of orders came through with no luck. So they are now planning on how to raise 2 small kids 3,000 miles apart from one another. Luckily their monitors worked together to solve this and they were able to get new orders. Just trying to add some perspective to all this and a glimpse into the future of a Naval Officer. Hang in there, its almost the 15th. Good luck.

Wow, thanks for offering some perspective.Of course I am thankful and blessed to have even made it this far and I'm sure there's a lot more painful waiting to come in the future. It's really just the excitement of it all :) and good luck to everybody waiting for a decision on the 15th

I don't know if this will help because we're scored differently ... but I'm a girl and I'm headed to NAPS in Newport in July. I got into USNA, but am being sent to NAPS due to a medical mix up.

I scored
Mile: 6:19
Shuttle: 7.9
Pull ups: 0, I did a flex arm hang (3 minutes? Can't remember)
Sit ups: MAX
Push ups: 30
Basketball throw: 60 feet

Has everyone that isn't 3Qed received a twe or is it possible to not be 3Qed and be CFA still?

Yes there are still candidates who are CPR. A candidate will not necessarily know if they are 3Q. USNA doesn't release the scholastic qualification.
