CFA video requirement

My DD took CFA test for Air Force Academy a week ago. Her scores were better than she was hoping for. So she submitted scores also to USNA. Both Academies accepted scores. Since she was not planning to submit CFA scores to USMA (she wanted to take more time to practice her pull ups), she did not take videos for both test events requiring videos. Does she have to retake the CFA? Or can she just submit these scores and do video for both events separately on different day?

I am looking for the same exact answer! So I will let you know if I find out and please let me know if you find out this answer, hope I dont have to retake the whole test.

DS just had me film him repeating the required events; uploaded video well after official CFA score was sent in.

They just want to make sure your CFA scores reflect actual ability - some years ago R-day performance was noticeably lower then CFA scores for a decent % of new cadets. A difference of 1 or 2 is not going to be a big deal unless it puts you under minimum. Problem was folks claiming near max scores then struggling just to qualify on R-day.

This was 2 yrs ago so of course yes - check official channels for current mandates. If CFA score was already sent they might still accept a separate video.

I think it was acceptable in the last 2 years to record the video separately from the actual CFA. If you read the instructions for the CFA it appears the video must be from the CFA of record. I would advise asking admissions before anything is submitted to ensure a separate recording can be made and submitted.

I would suspect that they are going to get tougher with this as the years go by. There could easily be a discrepancy between the score performed during the CFA and one performed separately without the physical stress of the other parts of the assessment. I would fully expect to see some sort of verification statement that the recording was made concurrent to the CFA.

Thank you all for your advice. My DD will contact admissions and find out the current requirements. I will post back as soon as she gets the answer.

Please do share the answer because DS is now in the exact same position!

My DD just got back some good news from USMA admissions about video requirements.

Here is what they said:

“Yes you can just send in videos for the pull ups and pushups, but you want to make sure that you complete the same amount that you did on your CFA because if you perform less than you did on the CFA we will have to take the lower score.”

Thanks for getting back to this with the answer!! Good to know he won't have to redo it completely.

DS had sent in his CFA + videos and then was requested to do another video of push ups. This was obviously separate and not done w a new full CFA.

I had to change bars for pull-ups due to the gym closing and have to do another video. On this other bar and video I got less by 2 on it should I re-record? Also can I submit videos passed November 1.

Yes, the filmed events (pullups and pushups) can be done separately if they are not up to par. Best of luck!
