Welcome,

I am Ayden a USNA candidate and proud (although confused as I am not particularly exceptional) LOA recipient. I am medically qualified and can get a nom through VA disability (but I am stubborn and want to at least wait to see if I can get a MOC nom because that's more rewarding) therefore the last thing on my list is the CFA. I am well below average in practice for Males at 35 Push Ups, 45 Sit Ups, 3-5 Pull Ups, 56 ft throw, and 7:15 mile. Are there any people well-versed in fitness to recommend a workout and diet around my practice scores?

Much thanks and appreciation,
Ayden of TX-25

Apply for all Nom sources. Seriously apply for the VA disability one ASAP and knock out the CFA.

There is no substitute for working out. There are tons of threads on here about the CFA prep workouts on here. Stew Smith has a book for CFA prep out there. Can find it on your favorite shopping site that will have it to you in a few days. As far as diet... you are young. Eat balanced meals, minimize sugar, stay hydrated. It’s a CFA not an iron man.

You don't need the CFA to get an LOA b/c the LOA is contingent on a nom, medical qual and CFA.

Ayden, you have been cheerfully active on here recently, nice to see, but if Ayden is any part of your real name, and TX-25 your District, you are putting too much info on an anonymous Internet forum. Look around. Real names and personal photos are rare. This is for your protection. Down the road, if you’re headed to a SA next summer, do you want your future detailers/cadre figuring out who you are?

There will be plenty of time to be yourself in social media forums where the point is to share personal info and build a network. This is an information and advice site where our names aren’t necessary to the conversation.

Great advice by @NavyHoops as always - go for all the noms you can. No one cares about your nom source once you’re there. Double down on the CFA. Practice it in order with the required timed sequence - that’s key - as well as work on individual segments. There are YouTube videos on the bb throw.

I was in the exact same boat a few weeks ago. My father found a workout, though extremely tough, worked wonderfully. If you would like to have me explain it you can message me I will gladly tell you of the workouts.

The CFA is a whole body workout, so it is not just arms, legs, etc. Once you find your workout, practice the CFA in the time allotted for it. The CFA steps are difficult. They are much more difficult when run in time and sequence
