I took the CFA last week and these are my scores. Does anybody know if they would consider this passing for a male and if not what areas should I improve on?

BB Throw: 54 feet
Shuttle Run: 8.9 seconds
Pull-ups: 11
Push-ups: 42
Sit-ups: 53
Mile: 8:47

Did your examiner submit your results yet? My daughter did hers on a Saturday, her examiner submitted same day and she had a PASS in her portal on Monday. Maybe she got lucky on a quick turnaround.

I recall the max and averages being listed out in the exam instruction pack.

It’s Pass/Fail (admissions told my daughter straight up that being over the top on the CFA doesn’t help you). However, I’d think you’d want to be close to average in most categories.

I know my daughter did 50 pushups and 73 sit-ups, and a mid 7 mile which I recall being around average for a dude, so I’d try to be better than that in those areas. Your pull ups look stout!

Remember you can rest in upward plank position on push-ups and rest in the up position on sit-ups!

My gut is saying from historical posts the mile run may be a bit slow. Some may be on edge. You have time and would suggest keep training to especially bring the mile time down. Good luck!

I’m so curious if this passed! Please let me know.

Doesn't this document outline the acceptance criteria? CFA Instructions
It does not. It gives the Max and the average. NOT The min, so assumptions are if you are at or above average for each you probably pass. But some people do very well on most and then for some reason the dreaded basketball throw gets people. And if you work on it to get another foot or 2 that could be the difference between an overall pass or fail.

Did you get word yet?

Not sure if you meant to ask this to me or the OP. I’m curious how the OP made out on his CFA!
My daughter received an LOA to USMMA about 2 weeks ago. She’s pretty excited.
How long did it take to find out? My application is ready for review and I'm wondering when I can find out about a potential appointment.

Appointments will be announced between now and mid to late April, with some beyond that. There is not necessarily a correlation between when you submitted your package and when you are informed of a decision.

Go look at the annual appointment threads for USMMA. Those give a hint of the flow pattern.

Do you have a nomination in hand? Appointments are typically not offered until that important piece is complete.

Don’t forget most midshipmen and cadets don’t get LOAs, so don’t stress if you don’t see one of those.

I know this is crazy-making for you and thousands like you across all SA applicants, which is why the advice is to tend your alternate plans, do well in school, enjoy family and friends, go PT to bleed off stress.

No nomination yet (NJ started interviewing this month), DoDMERB down, passed CFA. Everything I need to be considered for an early appointment is in. I understand I don't need one and shouldn't expect one, but I feel like I am a strong candidate and it would just be such a nice weight lifted off my shoulders. Thanks for the advice, I checked the old posts and it seems the appointment dates are quite random. Sort of all scattered throughout Nov-April with the bulk of the appointments coming in April.

Press on. That’s all you can do.
