Does anyone have a training plan they used to improve their CFA score? Pull-ups are my worst exercise.
 
Do you happen to have a pull up bar in your home or somewhere accessible to you like a park or gym?
 
Lat pulldowns can help some, but the best way to get better at pullups is just doing them alot. Turn your weakness into a strength.

I can only do around four right now. I'm going to do them every day for two weeks and see what the results are.

I would recommend trying to accumulate a decent amount of volume with good, clean reps that don't make you max out each attempt.

For example, if I was able to do a max of 6 pull ups before failing, I could do 4-5 in a set until I've reached 20 reps, taking rests in between each set. As I get better at pull ups, I can increase the total number to 25 or 30, so on and so forth.
 
I would recommend buying a doorway pull up bar for your room. Back in 2024 when I started my class of 2029 application, I couldn't do more than 4. Now, I can do almost 20. Having a pull-up bar in your doorway can help a lot because if you pass by there a lot, you can do pull-ups every time you do. They shouldn't be too hard to find on Amazon.

If you can go to your local Academy or other sporting goods store, you might be able to find a reliable one there.


This is the one that I use personally, and I am very satisfied with my progress with it so far.

I am not sure of any specific brands, my parents just had one. I also recommend possibly getting a gym membership, just to be able to do more than what is on the CFA. While those events are extremely important, lifting can help bring more mobility, and strength in general.
