Hello All,

Thank you for taking your time to look at my thread. Currently, almost all of my application to the United States Naval Academy is complete. The only two things left are the nomination (I have 2 interviews this Saturday) and Candidate Fitness assessment. My only question is, is it bad that I haven't done the Candidate Fitness Assessment yet? I can do it soon, but I still feel like I need time to increase my performance. Your thoughts and help are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and god bless.

Without any inside knowledge at all, just from reading these threads, I would take it soon. Maxing out is good but class rank, GPA and leadership activities seem much more important. If you're healthy, I think they know they can whip you into shape. Just IMHO.

Agree, a max is great but won't overcome low scores or GPA. If you can get solid scores, go ahead and take it.

And what happens if you get hurt and can't train? Take and get a pass. You need the Q. Retake it if you can improve.

Thanks. #3 is holding off on the CFA and the weather is closing in...This is great advice. CFA only missing from USNA, USMA, USAFA and A ROTC and NROTC. This kid has been working out since July for this (except for a trek) through Philmont--this won't change his GPA or his SAT scores but it will be good to have everything wrapped up before December...

Thanks NAVYHoops you saved me the lecture. I"ll give it anyway... Injury's are a very real concern along with colds, weather etc.. ..2 candidates both with broken bones from Football. Thank goodness Mom insisted on a CFA before the Season started. NO CFA=NO appointment one of the absolutes.

Every year we hear of a candidate who waited until the last week then got sick or injured and is full of excuses. That is the risk of waiting and waiting. I am going to be totally honest, this test isn't that hard! For those going to USNA, the PRT has higher standards. Get it done ASAP.

Thanks NavyHoops, I have the following week off for Thanksgiving, so I plan on training for one more week and then taking it when I get back. Thanks for your help!
