Before you make plans to travel to USCGA you need to make sure you can get on the grounds. It is very strict right now and only people with military ID cards can gain access. Call admissions first to see what they say.
Thank you very much

And not all military cards can pass through the gates. My dad has a DOD CAC card and high clearance and cannot get on campus. Definitely best to call before making any plans.

Reading on here that applicants are being notified by phone. Is that the typical way or are they also being notified by email or letter?

Most appointments are over the phone either by Coach or AO sometimes even both. All conditional appointments will be on bearsden and once a full appointment can be offered a formal letter will be sent. Denials and deferments will also be on bearsden.

On 12/7/2020, my son got an email from the the coach asking him to call him. When my son called the coach, he got the news of the appointment offer. His AO called a couple hours later also advising him of the appointment offer. Love the personal touch! His Bear’s Den was updated with a formal letter on 12/9/2020. The letter included a link to an online form to be filled out indicating he was interested in accepting the appointment. And then today, 12/14/2020, he got the BFE!!! Absolutely thrilling! It’s been a long time since our family was so excited about a piece of mail.
