Question- He has Awaiting Remedial" now posted but no codes at all and says correspondence, posted-but no email or links. Can my DS email Mr. Mullen directly or does he need to create an account here first? TYIA

Your son can email him - just have him let him know you found him via SAF, here’s his information from another post:

Thanks, I had him send an email. It has updated now to two correspondence letters, but they are identical-so that's confusing... Also, they want copies of treatment or hospitalization records for a 2014 murmur from a school physical. My DS never had either because my cardiologist tested him and cleared him. We already sent that letter in. Not sure how to send documents that don't exist!
 
Any idea when appointments from the waitlist will start? I'm assuming relatively soon with today being the deadline for accepting/declining most appointments.

They said anytime after May 1st. There could also be a wave after May 15th (deadline for waivers).
 
With the 15th deadline, what if you are n the wait list, but haven't been cleared by DODMERB yet? It was a bad (Truly bad) eye exam. A follow-up exam, proving eyesight is well within standards, was sent in immediately. AO said to speak with DODMERB, but they (DODMERB) said they wouldn't do anything with it unless it was initiated by USCGA. Her medical status was never changed, despite the additional information.

I guess the question is if DD isn't offered anything this first round, if DODMERB shows she's not qualified, would she even have a shot at the 15th wave?

If she is on the waitlist, then CGA is interested in her. CGA initiates the waivers for CGA candidates. CGA medical team is busy reviewing DQs and determining if they can grant the candidate a waiver. It sounds like you did everything you were supposed to do. Granting of waiver may be so quick that you don't see a change in Bear's Den or DoDMERB sites. She's not out of the running yet. It could still happen anytime before R day.

Pending means you are in the queue for Waiver Review.

Under Waiver Review means waiver file is actually under review.

Same boat here ... my dd has been under waiver review for what seems forever but there is still hope :)
 
Riding the line...trying to not get too excited about Plan B...jumping at every phone call...trying to be excited enough about Plan B that not getting CGA isn't too depressing...working out and running to stay in shape for swab summer...missing the pool...reading everything just in case...finishing high school...missing friends.

I have heard that extensions were granted for decisions and waivers so that is leading to delays for Wait List.

I heard the same. Someone in the admitted board mentioned that they had until May 7th for accept or decline. Not much for updates on any boards.

I can relate. We had a similar situation. DS was DQ'd for asthma because he had inhalers presribed as a precaution. I went ahead and got notes from his dr explaining it. I even got a note from his track coach stating he'd never seen him use an inhaler or have any breathing issues and I submitted these the dodmerb contact. Did it have an effect on the ultimate decision? I have no idea but it made me feel better to be proative and we did get the waiver. Good luck.

So, DS ended up with a single DQ for asthma. Before his medical exam, I had him tested at an asthma and allergy specialist for a spirometry test. He passed with flying colors and the doctor even wrote that he never had-nor does he have-asthma. So we are waiting on a waiver now. Can you tell me about the process you went through? What changes did you see on DODMERB? Did they ask you for any tests? TYIA

We had to take a prick test for a mild nut allergy (passed) and a methocholine challenge. The challenge was crazy. They had him blow into a machine 5 times to measure lung function. Each time he did, they would increase the amount of methacholine they gave him to inhale. They then graph the results. DS actually barely dipped below the auto pass level on the 5th try. We were devistated. The allergist said we shouldn't worry about it and he wrote it up in a way that discounted that 5th attempt. And it worked out. DS was notified via email when we got the waiver. The waiver showed up on dodmerb too at some point but I stopped checking it after the email notification..

Assuming your ds goes to CGA, will you be going with him? All this covid stuff has me wondering if I should go or just stick him on a plane.
